yes - they aren't the healthiest eaters so I figure they should get some vitamins from somewhere!
We also do fish oil -

I have some from Costco that I only remember to give a few times a month.

A multivitamin with iron because she's has low iron (thalassemia trait). We have a better handle on it now so I probably remember to give it weekly?

Yep! Gummy ones. Some days we forget. Her pedi recommends it and since we can't get her to eat veggies (unless in a pouch) I want her to have one. She asks for it if she sees the bottle when in the kitchen.

A gummy multi with fiber. We had a major constipation issue and these help her stay regular on her picky eating days.

Yes, everyday. I just recently changed to ones with extra C to try to boost some of her immunities. I need to get back in the habit again myself. Her and her Dad take them together every morning along with her allergy meds.
Reason: She doesn't have the most well rounded diet (avoids most veggies).

Yes, when I remember. We have gummy ones and also some prescribed by the doctor which have flouride added. I used to not worry about it but he's become a picky/minimal eater so I try to remember now.

Yes, with iron since he has low iron. He gets half a flinstones vitamin every day.
pomegranate / 3314 posts
Yep - just the Flinstones gummies. Her diet isn't straight up terrible, but it does lack some nutrients. Just trying to compensate for that, basically.

nope. my doctor actually never mentioned it! she did get vitamin d drops as a baby and i currently give her a probiotic daily.
pomelo / 5093 posts
Nope. My daughter thankfully eats a great balance of everything. She actually does eat a fish oil capsule each day because the one I take is orange flavored, and she loves them.

@mrsjazz: I think my DD needs this! What brand is it? Thanks in advance.
coconut / 8234 posts
@Kimberlybee: We use the Smartypants Kids complete + fiber + multi + omega 3 + vitamin D. They are pricey but they work and they don't have a bunch of sugar. The bottle says you work up to 4 a day but we've found 3 a day is perfect for our LO.

Yes, he takes a prescription vitamin with fluoride from the doctor. Our water does not have fluoride in it, so pretty much all the kids I know around here take the same one.
honeydew / 7504 posts
Nope. We asked about it at his 2y appointment, and the ped said that since he eats pretty well, there is really no need for it. He does get an immune-booster gummy every day (Zarbees Mighty Bee) since he's in daycare and was getting sick a LOT.

she's supposed to. But it's a liquid vitamin and she doesn't like it and even mixing it in water doesn't make her drink it more, so...i think we should do a gummy but i also hate to waste the big carton of vitamin i have at home!
clementine / 806 posts
She gets probiotic drops morning & evening. A princess gummy that's probably not all that "healthy" but she thinks it's a treat. And flax seed oil.
pomelo / 5524 posts
We try, but he hasn't taken it yet. We do the Flintstone gummies, but he won't even try them!
grapefruit / 4554 posts
1/2 chewable Flintstone multivitamin w/iron daily. She has low iron levels.
apricot / 317 posts
Yes, a gummy. He's still undersized and we feel like he needs the extra nutrition. We used to do cod liver oil, too, (flavored) and he loved it...

@mrsjazz: yay, thanks so much, it sounds like good stuff with all those vitamins packed in there.
honeydew / 7283 posts
M gets two of the Target gummies every day. Her ped recommended it because she was hardly drinking any milk when we switched to WCM. She was still getting her calcium through other sources but you need vitamin D to absorb it. Hence the multi-vit.
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
She wasn't but her doc said she should (no particular reason given), so she does now. Just a generic gummy kind.
pomegranate / 3595 posts
We have done one since she turned 2. She eats pretty well but she really wants to be like mama and she has been watching me take my prenatal and calcium at breakfast forever. We just get the target gummy ones and she is happy. Can't hurt!
