Yes it's great. He gets the tissues and blows til he's done. It's the little milestones.

My DS didn't figure it out until about 3.5. My DD could do it at 16 months.

She figured it out around 18 months. I hold the tissue though. Way better than the nose frieda, which made her scream bloody murder.

Yep, my 3 year old has been able to for a long time. Even my 21 month old has been able to for a while, which was both surprising and very helpful.

This is something Korean grandmas teach kids when they are young and I never really noticed or cared until I had my own kid who's 15 months old and I cannot WAIT for him to learn since he has a cold right now and we have to do a two-man pindown for Nose Frida-ing. He's not super verbal yet, but as soon as he is we're totally going to be training him! (In Korea, they hold the tissue up to the kid's nose and tell them to go "Hmmmph!" a bunch of times so they kinda learn to verbalize the sensation of noseblowing).

L figured it out at ten months. Game changer. Except she'll put her used tissues back in the box. Gross!

@sorrycharlie: yeah it's stuff I never realized they taught through verbalizations when I was growing up. Blowing nose is HNNNNNG!!! Or Hmmmmmph! And spitting is TOO! TOO!! And when potty training, they say SHHHHHHH and have the kids say it when they are peeing - it to replicate the sound of running water. They also tell kids to say UNNNNNGA when they poop to teach them how to push on the potty. so as toddlers Korean kids say they need to go she or unga.

@gingerbebe: I'm Chinese and my mom helped potty train my son. He's now accustomed to making the shhh sound when he pees. Helpful when I need him to pee before leaving the house shortly after he had just peed already.

My kid is 2 and he can blow his nose, but we hold the tissue.

my 3 y.o doesn't know how. And i don;t know how to teach him. any tips? I didn't know how for most of my childhood

Yes, my MIL taught her. She's really good at asking for a tissue when she needs one, roo.

DS can't blow his nose. When the snot gets to his upper lip, he'll run to me and tell me "mama! Nosey!" I've been sick the past 3 months and blow my nose a million times a day. DS knows what I'm doing, but doesn't do it himself.
