we always had one right outside LO1's doorway. I recently moved it into LO2's room because I found that it helped her sleep better, so I ordered a second for LO1's room. Last night it didn't make a stitch of difference but I'm hoping it helps tonight! DH makes a racket in the mornings and her room is right next to the kitchen and bathroom.

M sleeps with a fan on for white noise, in case baby cries in MOTN or when I wake up to get ready in morning it drowns out noise.

Yes, my toddler has a sound machine we keep on the white noise setting for naps/sleep.

Yes. He has a white noise machine and a humidifier. We also have a fan in the hallway to muffle any other noises.

Bennett has always slept with a white noise machine. I was thinking we should maybe wean him off it, but on second thought it's probably going to be good to drown out baby cries.

We live in a condo building and her room shares a wall with the stairs, plus it's right near the kitchen, so she definitely needs it. Plus now it's just her sleep cue. She just have a cheap homedics one.
We just got a second one for our room since the baby is sleeping with is and treated ourselves to the marpac dohm- love it.

Nope. We use a sleep sheep when they're newborns but haven't used white noise since. I don't know how/why, but they've only woken each other a couple of times over the last 14 months. The oldest even slept through her sister's sleep training in the room next door!

Yes I'm too afraid to stop lol. We sleep with one, too though. She doesn't use one at my Inlaws and never has issues sleeping there.

17 months old. Marpac Dohm and humidifier every day. We have a fan in our laundry room in the hallway for mornings when someone has to get up early. Will need to buy a second Dohm for DS2 coming in May. I meant to wean DS off it, but we live in a single story house and why mess with a good thing, especially now with a baby coming?!

We haven't used the white noise machine since she was around 6 months, but we do keep a fan going in her room. @sorrycharlie: My DH is a noisy morning person, too! Grrrr....

My 15 month old son uses a Dohm for every night and nap. I'd be afraid to stop using it since he's so used to it by now! At night he probably doesn't NEED it (he can't hear us), but during the day, when our dogs bark as people walk by, it definitely helps drown out noise. Sometimes I worry about any potential long-term impact on his hearing, but it's not super close to his crib...if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?!

Yes we got a noise machine when lo was around 1 after we moved-- in our old apt we didn't need one bc she had a really loud steam pipe in her room that made its own white noise

Yes. It's a large air purifier that creates the best white noise ever. We live in a small apartment, so we use it to drown us out when she sleeps.

She still uses and loves her sleep sheep ("sleepie sheepie" as she calls it). We also keep a humidifier in her room, and I need to get a small fan, too. It's really still in her room.
ETA: I don't know how much it helps her stay asleep in the morning, but it definitely helps her fall asleep. Her room is right by the bathroom, and we don't usually go in and turn it back on unless she's really tired. I also turn it back on if she or I wake up in the middle of the night.

so I loved, loved, loved the dohm. and it burnt out after a year and a half! it smelled like burning plastic and didn't work anymore
it was outside warranty so I just tossed it. sad. I bought 2 cheap Homedics sound machines with the white noise option and they do the trick, though I don't love the noise as much.

Yep. I don't think he necessarily needs it, but I think it helps minimize other noises from waking him up.

We got one for DD1 (4 yrs) when DD2 came, because she's such a light sleeper and the crying would wake her up. I think it really helps her to stay asleep
