we've transitioned lo to her crib rather than a bassinet in our room, and are loving our video monitor for the most part. except, it's so sensitive, even on the lowest setting. which is awesome for picking up all the little noises dd makes, but we're in an nyc apartment so there are always random sounds that it also picks up! the monitor display flicks on when the neighbors upstairs move around, when the steam pipe in the nursery makes noise, when someone puts something in the trash in the courtyard outside (and we're on the 5th floor...), when our dogs bark anywhere in our apartment, when dh sneezes in the next room, when dh is cooking all the way at the other end of the apartment--I swear, this morning I was trying to get a little more sleep when dh was already up and the monitor flicked on from his opening the refrigerator! I wish there was a way to limit it so that the display would only turn on if there was a noise actually inside her crib!

anyone else have this issue? I so wish we had a house where we could keep her nursery more insulated!
