Thank you everyone for your very kind words. You all very much helped my husband and I get through this rough week.

Findley spent his last morning eating all the left over treats in the house, relaxing out in the sun in our backyard and laying on our laps on the couch.

He passed away peacefully today in our home. I found at the last minute that I couldn't bare to be in the room when he was euthanized, but my husband held him in his arms as he died. We buried him at DH's family farm (the same place these photos were taken), one of his favourite places. We marked his grave with bricks for now, while we wait for the grave marker we bought on Etsy. We are both devastated to see him go and there has been a lot of tears today, but we know he is at peace now.

Findley was a very, very good dog.

Thanks again for all your support.

It sounds like the best last day a dog could ask for. It must have been a really hard day for you, but like you said, you know he is at peace now, and he knew how very loved he was. Hope you guys are doing OK.

I couldn't even look at the pictures, even if I didn't have 35 week prego hormones swirling around. I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I'm sure he absolutely knew how much he was loved!
