@Aria: oh no! My LO is 3.5 months, but I watch a 9 month old and my dogs adjusted really well. They are both lab/Shepard mixes, and are very affectionate with both babies

Mine did not adjust well at all. He's really old, so we have a baby gate up and they are only in the same area when we are there directly supervising interactions. Our house is very open, so he stays in the master but can still choose his level of interaction. When he wants to be involved he hangs in his bed near the door, when he wants to be left alone, he goes on the bed. We learned the hard way and had a very unfortunate incident just before my oldest turned 2.

My dogs def freaked out a little when she became more mobile-- but they are just barkers, they never nipped. It just took time, now they just move away if shes bothering theM

I have two dachshunds, and it has been a nightmare to the point where I hardly even like the dogs now. They were not thrilled with him ever, but we have many lunge and nip (no contact like you described) since he became mobile. I wish I could say it has gotten better but it hasn't. We employ same strategy as @lemondrop:

We did not have this problem but our dog does have a habit with our son that we needed correcting. Whenever our son cried our dog would run up and try to pounce on him to lick him all over. Yes it was cute but he will sometimes get knocked over and it just gets makes it a lot worse. So whenever that would happen I would stand between my son and dog and if he made a move toward ace I would tell him no and stop him while shielding ace. Of course if ace was crying hysterically and not just faking it I will pick ace up. It's worked great but took about a dozen times before he understood. Now our dog just sits next to ace and howls if he cries. Hahahaah tantrums are really noisy over here
