We have knobs and I'm glad because M isn't able to turn them yet whereas she can open doors with levers.

Levers
that seems so silly to say because we refer to them as knobs still.

Levers. It took me a few to understand what lever is and realize that's what we have

Knobs but we use to have levers in my old house which I hated since they weren't as easy to baby proof!

Knobs. I prefer the look of levers, but knobs are a little harder for DD to turn so that's nice! Although she's getting decent at it, probably won't make a difference before long.

We replaced the knobs in our house with levers. They feel so much nicer and it's easier to open doors when your hands are full!

We had the egg-shaped knobs at our old house and I really liked those. We have levers in our new house

Levers. I like the look but it's so annoying that LO can open them so easily. Even the dog can open them!

@JerricaBenton: lol, I have a funny image of my dog going around opening doors all over my house now if we had levers.
We have and prefer knobs.

Knobs, we are slowly replacing them all with better knobs.

@JerricaBenton: my parents have levers and our dog can basically open every door in their house. Even the ones that go to the outside that pull inward. Add to that the grandsons that will soon be able to operate the levers and I think it will be enough to drive my mom crazy!
We have knobs.

Knobs but my parents have levers and I love them. Or, even better, handles....for pocket doors!

We have knobs. My parents have levers and I hate them with pets/ kids and I would probably never install them because they annoy me!

Knobs, but LO has figured them out now...it was nice when she couldn't ha.

I wish we had knobs because LO gets into everything but he can't turn a knob yet. He's been able to open lever doors for months.

Levers, but i wish they were knobs because LO can open them super easily.

@PurplePumps: It's very funny to see the dog open the doors, but it's super annoying because we can't keep him out of any room. We finally put up baby gates that are more for him than LO! LO will be 16 and we'll probably still have baby gates lol!
@jhd: oh! That's scary that the dog can get outside too! Our dog isn't that advanced haha!

@JerricaBenton: he's a unique dog for sure. my mom has dogs of her own but they never try to open the doors!

@chopsuey: We have knobs on the inside doors, and levels on all exterior doors. I really wish we have knobs on everything ... I'm afraid we'll accidentally leave a door unlocked, and our baby will figure out how to pull the lever. <- Being a mom has made me really irrational!

We have knobs, but levers are "universal design". I never would have thought about it until I married an architect. Levers are easier to use, so it is ideal for those who are older or those who have disabilities.

@Vegmama: hahah we currently have levers and my kids get into everything! I'm debating between levers and knobs for our new house and going a little crazy trying to decide. DD can turn knobs at 3.5, but DS still can't!
@Espion: ooh. interesting! we planned on putting levers on all of our doors, but then I saw a beautiful crystal knob made by Emtek. -.- I love it so much.

For our interior doors, we have those crystal door knobs - I call them vintage, DH calls them old. But I love them too much to get rid of!

Levers. My kids can open both. This house came w levers tho. I don't think I really have a preference.
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
I think levers look nicer than knobs, but it is annoying that kids can do the levers so easily. We baby proof the doors we don't want opened for now. Not a big deal. I would rather have levers for the long term.

knobs. we replaced all the levers, because our lab can open the door with them.

Isn't it a good thing LOs can open doors? lol
I never thought of it as a negative til seeing this!
Our house has levers, bedrooms have latchy catchy's so the don't count. Front exterior is a knob, only different one is back slider. DD can open them all but at times struggles turn and pushing a door open!

@Beebug: she gets into the bathroom while I'm cooking and ..experiments. and, she can open the basement door which scares the s*** out of me. I have a dead bolt from FIL/landlord to install on the top.
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@sorrycharlie: oh! Funny to not think about how different they can all be! DD loves the bathroom, but isn't much she can get into. Basement stairs have baby gate, but I'm not sure the last time we closed it during the day (close at night heaven forbid she wake up and is disoriented!)
