I don't give motrin to kids under 6 months of age. If one were to dose a child under six months (which I really don't recommend), it would be 10 mg/kg which would be 80 mg for H. Is she really over 6 months??!!

@PrincessBaby: Poor baby. She's "real" sick, not just teething sick, sounds like? Sorry I'm not up to date because I tend not to visit sleep training threads since I have no experience with it.

After 6 months motrin is ok at 10 mg/kg.

I would give her the full dose too. I still give Olivia the lover amount out of habit, she was 17 lb 3 oz at her 6m visit and they told me to do 1.25 then.

@PrincessBaby: i think so - the chart says 18-23 lbs is 1.875 ml. when I called my ped, she did some calculation on her end and actually told me to give her around 1.5 recently, so I think that technically you can do the full dose, but if you felt weird about it, a little less would probably work, too.

@PrincessBaby: no problem!! hope she feels better soon, poor thing. the motrin lasts 6-8 hours, but in my experience has seemed to last closer to 8 for us!

If her fever hasn't been rising & it wouldn't disturb her sleep I wouldn't give her anything.. fevers are good. =) If it was keeping her from sleeping though & was before bed (so she wouldn't be getting more) I'd give her the full dose. I wouldn't alternate Tylenol & Motrin though b/c it's easy to overdose since they last different length & are different "amounts" of medicine.

@PrincessBaby: I posted a link to the Seattle Children's fever page on the other thread that has helped me feel SO much better about fevers & how to treat them! Seriously sanity saving!
