If you do double bath with an infant and toddler, what infant tub/support do you use? We tried this for the first time last night with our big blue infant tub and the toddler barely had any room. Any recommendations for infant tubs that work well for a double bath in the tub?

ETA just realized you have a little baby ... I didn't try this until baby could sit up. I did them separately until then.
Find a laundry basket that doesn't have a big footprint! My 2yo still loves his laundry basket in the tub
and it keeps him out of trouble (a bit at least ... )

@bhbee: ah, yep. I should have mentioned that LO2 is 1 month old so it'll be a while before he's sitting on his own

@JennyPenny: we had this and it was a game changer. Totally worth the $12 for the few months we used it. My tub was big enough that I could have the baby in the mesh seat facing me and the toddler had a bit more than half the tub. Worked until she could sit herself up and try to launch out of it (like 8 'onths maybe).

Same as @Foodnerd81: although now the baby hates bath. I think she gets cold. So now we aren't bathing them together cause the baby just screams the whole time

We have this one and it takes up about half of our apartment sized bathtub. It's also really easy to clean!

@caterw: that's the other one I was looking at. I didn't even think to check target and it's the same price as Amazon. I might pick it up and see how it fits since it'd be easy to return if it's too big.

@JennyPenny: I have the same seat that @Foodnerd81: mentioned and both kids fit in there fine. My baby is 3 months and my big kid is 3. I usually just bathe the baby quickly and then let my 3 year old play in the tub while I get the baby ready for bed. Like @Smurfette: mentioned, I do think baby is cold because I usually don't fill the tub enough for the seat to be submerged (it would take a LOT of water; I don't know if that's a universal problem). I use wet wash clothes to keep my baby covered and it stops him from screaming.

@gilmoregirl: I do that, but she just screams still. Sometimes the paci works to keep her quiet but she definitely doesn't enjoy baths like she did in the infant tub/sling we had. I had to throw it out the sling had mold, so I bought this instead of new one.

@Smurfette: yeah, it didn't work for us when he was smaller and now it does. I'm sure he'll scream through baths again soon! My 3 year old goes through a lot of bath hating phases so I shouldn't be surprised. I don't love the bath seat but it works for us.

I only attempted this once my youngest was 10 months. I was too nervous prior to then.

We didn't do joint baths until LO2 could sit up very well. LO1 is kind of an elephant in a china shop, so to speak. I didn't want having a tiny baby in the tub with him, and the tub is only so large.
Now that they're 9m and 3.5, it's pretty easy to do together though :).

Before my younger one could sit up I did the baby tub on the bathroom floor and the big tub filled up. Then we graduated to a bath seat, and finally a regular shared bath.

i did a combo of above depending on the day. same blue tub, so sometimes baby was outside the big tub on the floor in the little tub and other times, the blue tub went in the big tub.

My younger son is 5 months. He usually only gets a bath on the weekends (if that, he isn't a spitter and stays pretty clan!). Evenings were just too crazy. But now that he is starting solids I'm going to have to rethink that. I like the seat other posters have mentioned since we have a really small bath tub. Now we do the big blue tub inside the bathtub but it doesn't give my older son much room to play. He will usually get in after I'm done with the baby. But he is also 5 years old and can bathe himself.

@JennyPenny: now that I think about it, we used it in our new house that has a very normal sized bathtub and it still fit with the baby facing me. So I'm sure it will work in most tubs.
@gilmoregirl: our old bath tub was a biggish fancy jetted tub and I hated it- I never took baths anyway and it took forever to fill up enough for the little ones.

I would draw up a shallow bath and fold my infants head as he laid down in the water. It was a little crazy having both of them in the tub, but they loved bathing together. I started around two months. Before that I used the infant bath and bathed the baby on his own.
I also brought the baby bjorn bouncy seat into the bathroom and would put the baby in that with a towel wrapped around him while i washed the toddler.
the baby has been sitting in the bath from 4 months on (with some help at first) I ordered a bath support seat from the UK but it's delivery got messed up and by the time it would have arrived I didn't need it any more.
and it keeps him out of trouble (a bit at least ... )
