I know I'm way late on this but I just got caught up on the season three finale. Holy crap, I can't believe they killed Him off?!?
Why are they killing off all the good characters??

Both actors wanted to move on to other acting opportunities. My understanding is that they both have the same agent. The writer and creator of the show, Julian Fellowes, wanted them to stay but each wanted to see what else they could find. It's annoying.

Agreed. Matthew I don't care so much about, but I loved Sybil.
