My bonus son is 5 years old. He lives with DH and I, when he goes to his bio-moms house he has been having some behavior problems, that he does not exhibit in our home.
My Mother and DH's Mother both told him that Santa "called" them, to discuss the behavior. They did not confer with each other before they said this and I thought it was funny they both used this tactic.

I voted maybe??? I probably would only say it once, though, in a dire-need-you-to-behave-ASAP type situation.

Yes. I would do it in the way your mom did; just say that Santa had called and wanted to discuss LO's behavior with me. I wouldn't do something more direct like "if you don't do x (or don't stop doing x behavior) Santa won't bring you any gifts".

Truth time- I'm totally going to do this. Probably not the most forward parenting decision I've ever made, but whatever! lol! I'm okay with it.

Yep. We already use it on the boys. It's not an all the time thing but if we really need them to behave we might mention that "Santa is always watching so behave yourself!" haha

I think we would use it in the joking, "you better behave" way. but not so that kids think they only have to behave just so Santa brings them stuff.

We don't use it as a threat, but we tell DD that Santa wants to see her behave nicely. So if she's acting up, we just remind her that Santa is watching (through her elf, Rosie) and he gets sad when she doesn't listen/throws tantrums/etc...
We don't threaten that she won't get toys/Santa won't come, though. I think that would break her little heart!

My SIL uses the "You won't get any presents from HoHo if you don't go potty!" and it annoys the bejeesus out of me.
