We are on day 2 of a 12 day road trip. This morning when I got DD (20mo) when she cried she had puked all over herself and the bed. She does not have a fever and is acting fine. She has not thrown up since spitting up as a baby. She does sleep with two fingers in her mouth and lately has been trying to put her fist in her mouth. Thoughts? If we are all going to have the stomach flu I'd rather just head home.

Ehh when my son was that age he wouldn't act much differently when he got stomach bugs. I would probably offer a really bland snack and see if she keeps that down?

Last winter DS has a few weeks where he was throwing up at night on and off. He never acted different during the day. One time it was an ear infection, but another time it wasn't. The Dr said he could have just slept funny. Keep an eye her and check for a fever but it could be a fluke.

@youboots: H has definitely woken up with mystery vomit and been perfectly fine. She's gone through phases of shoving her hands so far back in her mouth that she vomits. I even remember my sister waking up with mystery vomit one day when she was 9 or so. Not sick, just puked in the night. We shared a room and my cousins were staying with us and none of us woke up.

Both of my kids had mystery vomit last week (had been fine the previous day, then puked either at night or early morning). They were completely fine a few hours after puking.

Every time my kids have vomited in the bed they have had a stomach bug

My son has only thrown up three times in his almost three years and two of those times were random throw-ups in his sleep. Both times he was completely fine.

She slept more than usual and has not had much of an appetite, but she's active and in good spirits. Onward to San Francisco

Good luck! We have had both bugs and also one of night time pukes that were either from finger gagging or snot. Either way no fun.
I am waiting to see if we are OK after playing this afternoon with a kid who threw up just after we left. I think I might die if I get a bug....

My DD is 2 and she always vomits when she's teething. Could that be it?

Is she teething? Dd2 has vomited randomly at night a few times. Every time we've noticed a tooth popping up. Could she be getting her last molars?

She's not teething that I know of. She has all of her teeth and is 3 months shy of 2 years so possibly molars. She did get teeth early.
She slept 13 hours last night through a giant storm- I was up every 2 hours. She's in a great moist. 4 1/2 hours to go.

My DD does this occasionally when she eats something that doesnt agree with her. She will vomit, sleep a little late, and then be 100% fine.

Update: not sick! We made it home yesterday after an 11 day 2000+ mile road trip
