Had to share, I had a dream about Hellobee last night that there was a new blog post up!
I miss the blogs!
Anyone heard anything at all?

Aww, good dream
At this point I'm just glad the site is still working and we still have a bit of board movement. I love this community so I'm grateful it's still here, even in a low-key state.

I really miss the blog and I wish that piece had closure. I am glad the boards are still a bit active though.

I have always gravitated more towards the boards so am thankful the site is still up and there has been some continued activity. I used to be more of a lurker but am trying to be more active myself to encourage engagement. I learn so much from everyone, it is an awesome resource!

I miss the blogs so much. I still check every day to see if there's been a change there.

I had the urge to login today. What’s the news with the site. I’ve been away for awhile and out of the loop. This is the best parenting site ever!!

I do miss the blogs. Honestly I'm in and out on the boards because I'm already online all day. Hoping that changes later this year! Still one of the nicest mom communities I think.

@LadyDi: I would love to know whats going on with the Bee's, just in general (especially with covid) and with the site.
@808love: My favorite parenting site as well. I'm always recommending to others but I don't think we get a lot of new users anymore sadly.
@codeitall: Agreed!

I was thinking the other day that it feels like the end of an era, not just with hellobee but more broadly. I've been online since the very early days of the internet and have seen it change so much. My understanding, though it isn't my area of expertise, is that changes in ad algorithms have really favored major platforms, and make it hard for a site like hellobee to be profitable. If they remove liability protection for content posted on your platform, which has merits, that will just further favor the big sites. I know there are some real cesspools on the internet, but the wild west nature of it also allowed niche communities like hellobee that are just amazing.

@josina: Oh man, I agree that it's the best parenting site, but I don't recommend it to people I know IRL. Too much personal stuff on here
@periwinklebee: I see it as the end of an era too but in a more personal way. It was there for me when I was pregnant and having small kids, but as my kids grow up I feel like there's less I need the community support for. BUT going against all that, I was listening to a podcast recently that talked about how we feel more shame about our kids issues as they age and we don't talk about them the way we do when they're babies and that is absolutely true. So maybe I need this site more now that my kids are aging.

@JennyPenny: I think that is really true about feeling more shame as they get older. As if it’s less to blame on that age and it’s you or the kid that is doing something wrong. I have definitely posted here what I might not post on my neighborhood mom group! I guess part of that too is anonymity. My 9 year old is old enough to be self conscious if a friend’s mom knew something about her, while a 2 year old doesn’t care.

I just want to echo the sentiments here - HB was such a key resource for me as I had my babies before any local friends did. It was a lonely time but HB really helped.
And I planned my wedding back in 2009, peak weddingbee days. So it has been 12 years of following along the Bee family - I am very curious about how they have fared during covid on the island, especially given the decreased tourism. I also hope there was some justice re: Mr Bee's mother's murder. So shocking and tragic.
Anyway, if they read the boards - sending you guys positive vibes, hoping all is well.

I can't really complain b/c I honestly was not even on here for months at a time, and very limited even now. But HB was on my RSS feeds so if I saw a blog post go up, I always made sure to read/comment to support the bloggers!
@ChitownRo: I really want to know how they've been too! Regardless of what has happened & what they did/did not do well with HBl; I wish them the best and want to know if they're okay.
