We are going on a short family trip to the mountains around the time LO is 6 months old. We will be doing some hiking, with her in the Ergo. Early october will probably be a bit chilly so i am wondering how i should dress her. She will be quite exposed in a carrier...should i have in her in a full suit, or would a jacket-pants-furry boots combo suffice?

The one thing about the ergo ( as well as other carriers) is that heat builds up between the two of you so you might want to dress her in layers so that you can take some off if you start to see that she is warming up

@Mrsbells: Ditto. Also the Ergo covers quit a bit of their little bodies, so it's really just their feet, head, and arms sticking out.
We live in the mountains, so our kids are used to the weather, but I used to dress DD in a dress with pants and a hoodie over top. That way, I could remove a couple articles of clothes (or put some back on) depending on the weather. Actually, this is the exact outift she's wearing today, lol. It was cold on our way to daycare!

We live in the mountains, and what I notice is that my son's head, hands and feet are the biggest challenges when dressing him. I'd suggest a light knit cap that covers the ears, possibly with little flaps and some mittens. For footwear, wicking socks (not cotton) and a pair of windproof booties.
