So, last night I was driving with my infant in her infant seat. We have a little mirror on the seat so I can see her when I'm driving. Well, it became dark and then I realized that I couldn't see her. We drove with the door light on so I could see if she was all right and everything. Does anyone have any suggestions as what to do? Did you get a little battery operated light? I'm hoping to not have to drive at night at lot with her, but you never know and with daylight savings time happening this weekend, it will be so dark so early.

I don't have a mirror or light but I think I've seen posts about flashlights that people use when they check on their babies at night.

We just got used to not seeing him when it's dark...I figure if he's upset he'll let us know, and I know he's not going anywhere!

I have never checked, but I suppose we are rarely out past 6 or so.

I just can't see her. When we go to day care every morning it is still dark out.

we got a mirror with a little light on it, but before we had that, i think i just had DH check on her with his phone. now a days, we only use the light to see if she's asleep or not. otherwise, i know she'll tell us if she's pissed.

I can't see her in the day let alone night. I didn't know you could buy mirrors for that.

Our mirror has a light but it doesn't work great. You'll get used to not seeing her at night, she'll let you know if she needs something.

I drove at night with her often but never used a light. I'm not much of a worrier and didn't feel like I needed to always see her.
What about a flash light?

I neurotically reach around the car seat and grab her hand until she grabs it back.
Which isn't helpful.

We don't have a mirror, so I can never see her. I'll sometimes lean back and take a peek at a stop light, but mainly just assume she'll make noise if she needs something.

I twist around at stop lights to see him sometimes if he's been too quiet, which is rare
but otherwise I just don't see him while I'm driving!

I have a Brica mirror that comes with a remote control for light and music. You can control it from the remote if you're driving.

Thanks for the tips. LO does let me know if she is upset, but I just worry if she is screaming and then all of the sudden stops. Luckily, we are getting used to longer car rides so I think we will be ok!
but otherwise I just don't see him while I'm driving!
