M has had bright pink cheeks and chin and a pimply forehead (not itchy as far as i can tell) for a few weeks now. I thought it was from sleeping on her belly and rolling around in her own drool all night. Now I think it's getting worse and everyone (old ladies at the grocery store, our babysitter) keeps asking me what it is. My SIL is advising slathering her with Vaseline. Yuck, but I'll try it. No dr's apts scheduled for over a month. How would I know if it was eczema or something else? Anyone have anything similar with belly sleeping?

Both my boys have a mild case of eczema. When they have a flare-up, it comes on very quickly to the point that the affected area turn fire-ant red.
Not sure how old your LO is. Could she be teething?

hmm....do you have a pic you can post? we might be able to get a better idea from that....my LO sleeps on her belly, and the only rash she sometimes gets is right by her chin (so i assume its a drool rash?)

@sunshineandsushi: she is 8 months with 2 teeth, so that's always a possibility. Rashes are so tough!

@MrsF: Vaseline or Aquafor is always good as a moisture barrier if the area is dry. We recently started using CeraVe with good results as well.

Thanks @sunshineandsushi ! We had some CeraVe in the house already so I put that on tonight. We'll see how it goes. I appreciate the advice!
