Spin off of my earlier thread about the baby crying in the hotel. I feel like in every thread about a baby being loud somewhere in public, people are always quick to say that drunk people are more annoying.

The thing is… I don't think I've ever been annoyed by a drunk person in public… ever. Maybe I tune it out more than other people? But I feel like the whole "drunk in public" thing is a bit over exaggerated. Sure, drunk people can be annoying, but the only time I really have to interact/notice them are when I've been like… at a frat party (in college) or in a bar (i.e. where drunk people belong). I've never been at a restaurant or at the grocery store or on a plane or in a hotel and been disturbed by a loud drunk person.

Also, other than spilling beer on me or puking on me, I can't think of anything a drunk person could do that is as distracting as a kid shrieking at a restaurant or running around and getting in my way when I'm trying to shop.

I'm not trying to start a debate on whether kids should be allowed to be in public places. I'm just saying--- even assuming they have an absolute right to be anywhere and no one has any cause to say a word about it because kids are a fact of life and they deserve to exist anywhere in the world--- kids are a more frequent and more annoying part of being in public than drunk people. To me, at least. (Again-- not saying that annoyance = the kid doesn't have a right to be there. Just that it's something I notice/dislike when I'm in public)

Am I alone?
