As I was repositioning my LO and wiping up drool, she lunged for my knuckle and started baring down on it. It totally surprised me, so I felt around her mouth and noticed a hard white dot near where her left canine should be. Surely this isn't a first tooth?! She's only 11 weeks old and aren't first teeth supposed to be one of the bottom front teeth?
Could it be anything else? It's definitely a hard white dot, not a line, not tooth shaped.
How old was your LO when s/he started teething?

My LO was 4 months. Anything is possible, some babies are even born with teeth!

We actually discovered his first tooth today! Except it is about 80% cut through. He's 6.5 months old. It is certainly possible, but it is my understanding that the first teeth to come in are the front bottom ones. I would ask the doctor when you go next (which should be soon, right?)

Our son just cut his first two teeth (bottom two incisors) two weeks ago, so just after 6 months.
I think nearly any age can cut teeth!

A mom friend of mine had a similar situation--baby on the younger side, white spot near canine, and i think it turned out to be a cold sore or something that ckeared up on its own. Something to consider...

M. was 4 months, Lala was 8 months. Lala had teeth that started to poke at 3 months and then just regressed for a while. I think that was her upper canines.

LO is almost 7 months old, and so far, no sign of teeth. She did have a little white spot on her gumline (kind of looked like a tooth) when she was just a few days old that the ped said was a harmless protein spot...

my oldest son cut his first tooth at 12 weeks. Its different for everyone.
