Do you let your LO eat in their car seat? I am scared that she'll choke and I'll be unable to reach her. But the past few days, she's been asking for a snack five minutes after we get on the road. Am I being crazy and should just give her snacks? I've given her purees, but prefer to avoid puffs and cheerios in favor of veggies and fruit...

we've given ds mum mums randomly when he's fussy. we just started giving him puffs in one of the snack grab cases. (he's one next week)

I have let my son eat in the car, but I've been in the backseat with him. I prefer not to do it unless it is absolutely necessary, like we are driving somewhere at a mealtime and we can not stop.

Same as @looch:. I only let her eat in the car if I'm in the back seat with her.

I've been giving her snacks, it's a little scary, but purees are just too messy...

I do occasionally, but I usually give her milk or water to hold her off until we arrive at our destination. If I do give her food, it's usually something that dissolves easily, a pouch, or something really small like raisins.
ETA: I didn't start letting her eat snacks in the car seat until 14-15 months.

I give her a water cup and her snack cup with goldfish or cheerios in it.

Yup all the time. Since the beginning. We have a good mirror so I can see everything. Now at 2 1/2 he has to eat his lunch in the car as he goes from one preschool to the other one.

Yes, I let LO eat in the car. At 20 months, it's hard to wrangle him into his carseat. He'll always sit if I promise him a savory Pocky stick or saltine crackers.

Under 1 year, I would give her a bottle of milk to tide her over. But as she started getting older and doing well with solids, I would give her puffs, cheerios or a veggie pouch.

We very rarely take the car, when we do I always have someone riding in the back with DD because she is not a fan of car rides and it goes much more smoothly with someone to keep her distracted. We used to distract her with food, but she has started getting car sick and vomiting, so now we try to avoid giving her anything.

We don't have a car, but on the rare occasions that we rent one, I will give a fruit pouch for an emergency and that's it.

My 11 year old rides in the back of my car, and if LO is hungry, I just ask him to hand him puffs/crackers to eat.

we don't make a habit of it, unless someone is in the backseat. like you, i worry about choking and not being able to get to him on time.
