Does anyone here do embroidery? I did some cross stitching as a child, but that's about it. Then I came across this Etsy shop and decided to buy one of their kits to make our toddler a little plushie for Christmas. If it's not too hard, I'll definitely be buying other animals from that shop.
I thought it'd be fun to start a thread (haha) where people share what they've sewn recently. Bonus points if you can point me to other cute beginner projects like this one!

Very cute! I'd like to get back into it, but haven't done it since before kids and my current job. I like them since they are like putting together a puzzle.
I'm trying to accomplish some kind of simpler craft each week for now to build into a longer term project like doing cross stitches again. I'm the queen of unfinished projects, so here's hoping I can finish a few!

I used to cross stitch all the time as a kid too!! I make the family's halloween costume every year and mend stuff here and there, but that's about it. Too lazy now although I'd love to pick it up again!

Those are super cute. I bought a sew-your-own stocking kit and made LO's Christmas stocking. I need to find another one to work on in 2016 because LO2 will be here and need one next year.

Oh that's so cute! I have something like that on my to-do list, if I ever have the time!
Last year I made a little fabric book - there wasn't much embroidery involved, just stitching the edges of all the fabric bits. It turned out a little funny looking, but I still like it

I dabble in a little embroidery, but mostly do crochet. But I usually carry an embroidery project to clear my mind if I need a break from crochet. I've been working on the same set of four napkins for far too long! They have cherries in the corners.
My 11 year old niece does beautiful work though. She recently mastered the french knot and is obsessed with them!

And if you click on a particular animal's $18 kit, you see a close up picture of what it looks like. (The $39 kit includes a hoop, scissors, etc. while the $18 kits just have the fabric and stuffing.)
The plushies are divided into three beginner levels. The sloth and monkey are Level 1, and the shop owner told me those are what she recommends for children juts learning to embroider. Level 2 and Level 3 use the same stitches but differ in the amount of embroidery involved, so Level 2 animals (fox, squirrel, etc.) take 5 - 6 hours to make while the Level 3 animals (raccoon, owl, etc.) take 15 - 20 hours.

@Oxana: That's really neat! I couldn't tell from the top pic how much was printed and how much was sewn. I might have to get some for my nieces sometime so they have something more fun than towels to work on!
