My 1 yo has a TERRIBLE diaper rash. I actually took her to the children’s hospital’s after hours clinic today and got some prescribed cream but I forgot to ask about epsom salt baths. Have any of you done that or know anything good or bad about it?

We give DD regular epsom salt baths for the magnesium benefits and have since she was around 1. I'm not sure of the specific pros and cons for use with diaper rash.
I have heard of baking soda baths though, for diaper rash. Dr. Google has info on both.

We did baking soda baths. I don't really remember measuring anything but just adding it until the water was cloudy. We did it in the kitchen sink usually at that point.

We did baking soda baths when DS was like 2 weeks old and got a horrific diaper rash from DW having antibiotics during delivery. Also, no baby wipes, rinse only with water, FULLY dry the area even with a hair dryer on low heat. We did a prescription cream but didn’t clear it. A mixed combo of OTC yeast cream, hydrocortisone and polysporin 2x per day plus extra strength desitin cleared it in a couple days.

@muffinsmuffins: thanks. I also heard about the hair dryer trick. I’m letting her walk around without a diaper for awhile after each changing. Thankfully she is a tad better today. And she’s teething and has awful poops from that (or possibly a virus) so this is really all no fun. I’m going to consider all you suggested. Thanks.
