Which would you take your baby to if the nurse line suggested you have her seen for a croupy cough?

if you're worried about her breathing, i think i might do the ER. i'm not sure how equipped urgent care facilities are to deal with infants.
good luck! the croupy cough is the worst!

Oh no! Gosh, I've been to both and the ER was faster! They are probably better, too.

ER. I would prefer to already be in a hospital setting if it was something bad. I hope M is ok!!

Definitely ER! They're much faster than urgent care. Hope she feels better soon!

I'd say urgent care.... but is she experiencing any other symptoms? temp? increased work of breathing? If so, then I might say ER.

Urgent care around where I am is good.. I have waited a really long time at the ER and they totally did not know how to handle and infant. They missed an ear infection and totally could not catheterize my DD.

I would say ER, but wherever you go make sure you stress the fact that she's having trouble breathing. That will get you seen the fastest.

Is she having trouble breathing or just a croupy cough? If there is any concern with the way she is breath (rapidly, shallow, labored) I would go to the ER. If not I would go to the Urgent Care, they treat babies all the time around here and you generally get in and out faster. You will get in quickly in the ER, but might spend a lot of time waiting to be discharged.

Just for croupy cough, I would say urgent care. If her breathing was off I'd lean ER. Thinking of you guys

Thanks you guys. It was just (haha "just") the cough that was worrying us. We took her to urgent care. We have good ones near us, the one we went to is a Duke Medical Center. Her lungs are clear but she has an ear infection. Gah.. I hate it for her!

@Andrea I feel so helpless. She's so miserable, all I want to do is make it better.
