We stopped using it at eight weeks. She had great head control, was fourteen pounds and too long for it.

B is just shy of 12 pounds but we already stopped using it. He is so small, he sinks down into it and his head ends up being supported anyway.

I can't remember exactly when we stopped using it, but I feel like we used it for at least 3 months. I then realized that I could just use the pillow and it worked perfectly. Like @Pepper said, a lot of people recommend using a folded blanket. Personally, I like the pillow because LO was short and that gives a good amount of boost and I already had it.
