Anyone been to Mommycon? I am going to MommyCon Chicago and just trying to gear up. Any pointers?

It's a modern natural parenting convention. I am super excited to see some of the speakers and gear.

I went to one of the first in Philly. It was SUPER crunchy. I learned a ton, and it was very freeing and empowering as far as boosting my confidence with certain aspects of parenting (like nursing in public - everyone hanging out). But at the same time, it felt a little shaming because I'm not *that* crunchy.
I did bring home A TON of swag, so be prepared for that. I went to a VIP event the day before and brought home a Maya ring sling, Babyhawk mei tei carrier, and Sage Spoonfuls food containers. The day of the conference there were a lot of vendors giving away free samples. And then I won a Clek Foonf!

I would love to go see the meeyoo booth there!
I don't think we have mommycons in Canada, I'd totally go if there was one around here!

@littlebug: great to hear about the swag. I didn't spring for a VIP ticket this year. Perhaps next year. We aren't super crunchy as in I don't cloth diaper much. I am excited to go!!
@MrsB2012: how far would the closest one be from you? I am driving 3 hours to go.

@MrsRcCar: I went last September to Mommycon Columbus and went with friends who were expecting their first, our LO was 7 months at the time and I felt like I didn't get a lot out of it. I enjoyed the vendors but the lectures weren't really things I didn't already know or had already decided upon. My friends who went with us loved it! They got a lot of useful information and loved seeing all the awesome products. I feel that it definitely catered to parents who were expecting or had newborns. Our swag bag was filled with supplies for tiny babies that we had already outgrown. It was a good experience but I don't know if we would go again for anything but the vendor goods.
