...instead of having to skirt around the person/people involved?
Having some family drama involving my brother's GF. I just really wish I could tell her myself what needs to be said because no one else is doing it! But, it would probably cause more drama, and there's already too much of that going on. UGH!!!!
Anyone else get that?!

I have a friend from high school that I have recently become distant from for this very reason. I can usually just tell people what I think and expect them to be just as honest, but with her there is no reasoning

@hellocupcake: I'm sorry you had to lose a friend over that. It's unfortunate that people can't get over themselves and just hear somebody out and try to come to a compromise.
With this situation, I'm not directly involved, but have become (I guess indirectly?) because of family coming to me and talking (complaining) to me. It really isn't my place to tell her exactly what needs to be said, but I hate that everyone else is tip-toeing around it and therefore letting her get her way. Bleh.

Yes. And it's nearly always my mil - she drives me crazy but I can't say anything otherwise it will cause a serious rift, she already thinks I hate her and apparently I look at her like I want to kill her. Urgh.

@DiamondEyes: It's funny because the reason I distanced myself was because all of our friends would talk about her behavior behind her back and I didn't want to be THAT friend so I chose to just back off. It sucks. It probably sucks more with family since you can't even really distance yourself from the problem.

Umm yes, with my IL's. DH is too nice about the issues we're having with them. If I were to say what we really think I'm sure things would get even worse. They already hate me enough as it is because I won't let them walk all over us.

Fortunately, the problem has now been spoken about!! It's too bad that it took way too much time and drama, but I'm very proud of my brother right now!
