Is everything closed today, or are there a lot of stores open in your neck of the woods?

I know the grocery store was open. But I haven't tried anything else. I would expect most places to be closed but it is kind of a bummer to not have any where open when you have the day off work!

most things are open around here! (RI/MA line). the mall closes early at 6, but we went earlier for a little bit. we actually went out to breakfast and then went to see Rock of Ages
I know the banks are closed and most retail stores probably close a little early, but it seems like for the most part things are open!

Everything closes here every Sunday, so we've gotten pretty used to it. Having said that, we were able to go to the grocery store and buy some ice cream today, so not a total loss!

Our hometown hosts the state's 4th of July Festival, so everything was open! The town is sooo tiny and there were a million billion people there. They're also filming a movie, so businesses were encouraged to decorate even more than usual.

We tried a few restaurants in town and they were closed so we ended up at a place that we never go to and it was good so I am glad everything else was closed!

Haha, I hate when I forget about things like that. And you know what was weird? We had our holiday on Sunday, but everything was open. Then on Monday, everything was closed. It was super strange.

I have no idea! My husband went grocery shopping at 6am, so Walmart was open. Other than that, we didn't leave the house all day. Haha.

Most everything around us is open today, guess it depends on the part of the country.

This is totally off topic, but my husband and DH laughed at me for using the word alas earlier today! The only place I tried to go today was the grocery store. It was crowded, but still open.

@Mrs. Jacks: I guess I am used to it. When my Husbands family came from California and Arizona last month they thought it was so weird lol.
