I just have to laugh at the start of what feels like a very dramatic entrance to toddlerhood and wanted to see what other kiddos turn into dramatic moments. Today E at almost 15 months cried because I wouldn't let her wear her sleepsack to daycare, I wouldn't let her bring the throw blanket to daycare, and I made her say goodbye to her daddy.

Last night my son had an absolute meltdown because I wouldn't let him sleep in his jeans, and I made him put on a McQueen pull-up that he picked out 🤦♀️

My 2 year old cried because I took a knife away from him... I left it on the counter after chopping something and didn't realize he could reach that high. Lesson learned!

This morning one of my two years olds lost her mind because I broke her cracker into 4 pieces. She had in fact asked me to break it into 4 pieces.
Yesterday the same child was mad because her old nanny sent her a gift in the mail. How dare she?!

When I opened the cereal bar and he wanted to open it, when he opened the cereal bar and it broke, when he wanted to go through the back gate but I made him go through the front door, when it was time to go take a bath and he didn't want to, when said bath's bath time was over and he didn't want to get out, when baby sister got 5 seconds of attention. That was the past 24 hours

This is a totally true story from the night before last. It was bedtime and the kids were tired. I was having them do one last pee before bed. I saw DD2 head to the bathroom clutching the entire egg-carton of those tiny hatchimals. I specifically said to her "Please put the hatchimals down. They are tiny and I don't want them to fall into the toilet or something". And she said okay. And then proceeded to put them on the stool in the bathroom. Thinking all was well, I went to get pajamas on DD1 and left DH watching DD2 on the toilet..then I heard a yell and my husband shut the bathroom door really fast.
Apparently, as soon as I left, DD2 finished and wiped and stood up and picked up the Hatchimals again. And then held them in her hand as she went to flush.....and yup, accidentally dropped them--ALL OF THEM...in the pee filled toilet.
DD2 started scream crying (even though DH was super, super nice about it). DD1 has just done a number 2 right before, so I knew there was tons of bacteria and invisible fecal matter), so DH fished them all out of the toilet (all 12 of them), put them in the bath to soap them up, then rinsed them in put them back in with diluted bleach.
I took screaming DD2 to get pajamas on--and she proceeded to scream for literally at least 30 minutes because she wanted to hatchimals RIGHT THAT SECOND and she wanted to SLEEP WITH THEM in her bed, and on and on and on while DH cleaned and disinfected.
She was screaming over and over "I want. the. HATCHIMALS."
And then last week, she asked what we were having for dinner and I said "chicken" and then she had a whole meltdown because she kept crying that she said she wanted chicken?!?! WTF.

G (who just turned 4 on the 31st of Dec) has had 3 mini-meltdowns so far today.
It all began when,
(1) The dog wouldn't wear a "batgirl" mask any longer and he was upset bc I wouldn't force her to. He screamed, "You are the bad mama!" at me. 🤷♀️ (* see affixed pic.)Then, at lunch,
(2) His PB&J wasn't cut into enough pieces... Then it was cut into too many.🤦♀️
And, not even five minutes ago:
(3) G wanted to change his pants into his navy flannel sweats. I gave them to him but he didn't want them ... nope, he wanted another pair of blue pants so he began to cry. I left him with 5 pairs of different blue pants and 3 pairs of jeans. He is now WEARING a tee shirt and 3 pairs of pants! *slow blink*I can't wait until his nap today.

Because she wanted to wear a purple shirt, but not one of the 5 I offered her (which is all the purple shirts we have.) And then after putting on a purple shirt, because she actually wanted a green shirt.

Ha these are making me laugh and also terrified for toddlerhood! LO is only 11 months but yesterday she was hysterical right after we had been in the kitchen and DH and I were genuinely kind of concerned bc she’s not a crier. Then he was like, well she did point to the Cheerios box before I brought her in here. So I brought her some Cheerios and she stopped and was so happy. Now we have to hide the box of Cheerios.

She refused to snap the buttons on her coat, so I did it. A few minutes later she forgot that she refused to do it and threw a fit because obviously she wanted to do it and how dare I not know that.
Also, we had a really rough morning and this thread is making me feel so much better.

LO who is 19 months got very upset because I broke a piece of the banana off for him. He wanted to carry it around and eat it like DH. Cried because the cereal bar broke, upset because i offer the wrong cheese- string cheese, shredded cheese or cube cheese....just like DH

It must be a rough toddler day everywhere! We've had meltdowns because she didn't want breakfast, but was starving. Then because she wouldn't put pants on, but was cold. And because she wanted to visit Nana (my mom) but then kicked her, and was mad we had to go home. But then wanted to go home. 🤷♀️🤦♀️🤯

Today R cried because we made him go to the children's museum, after he asked to go to the children's museum.

3.5 yo. Things that made him cry/scream/wail yesterday afternoon/evening, from getting home from daycare until bedtime:
- I said I would heat up some meatballs for dinner
- I threw away his empty yogurt cup
- I made him come inside to take a bath
- Baby brother was in the highchair ("that's MY seat!")
- I carried him up the stairs to take a bath since he refused to go
- I picked out a wash cloth from his drawer for his bath because he said he didn't want to pick it (but he wanted to pick it)
- I put him in the bath tub because he didn't want to take a bath
- I drained his bath water because he was screaming and sloshing all the water over the side onto the bathroom floor
-I washed his hair
[brief break of no screaming]
- I walked out of his room at bedtime (much crying even though I went back 4x for extra hugs/checking on him)This morning before daycare:
- I picked the granola bar out of the box
- I could not find his Lightning McQueen spoon to eat his cereal with
- I would not make a second bowl of cereal for his pretend cheetah to eat
- I made him change out of his pajamas into his clothes
- I brushed his hair.
- I left for work
He is tired and has a cold, to be fair. But... I can't wait till he's a little more even keeled and EVERYTHING is not a fight. This was an average day too. Not a bad day.

My 2 year old can have meltdowns over anything. One minute he wants to put his socks on himself and will wail about that, the next minute he wants me to do it, no he wants daddy to do it, no he wants big sister to do it... <insert eyeroll emoji>.... -
These are so funny! And so relatable.
My older daughter (4) had a meltdown this morning because I unpacked her “suitcase” (a beaten up gallon ziploc bag she probably got out of the trash) and took out her fleece hat and mittens for her to wear at the park. Apparently she had packed that bag for a trip we’re taking. That trip is to the beach. In July. She’s livid that I ruined her “best packing plan ever.”
My younger daughter (20 months) lost it when I wouldn’t use the tube of Neosporin on the bathroom counter as toothpaste.

My son is now 5.5, so we don't have as many total meltdowns (thank goodness), but the other day he was crying because I told him that he was having a sleepover with his grandparents tonight (which he has been begging for) and he wanted to stay for 3 nights.
My favorite from when he was a toddler is when he cried because I wouldn't let him lick the toilet. -

W (nearly 3) had a bedtime meltdown because we wouldn’t let him put his brother’s prescription excema cream on himself. I know the feelings are real but it’s very hard not to laugh!

I made her take off her squirrel costume (which she refused to wear for Halloween and was wearing for the first time tonight) to eat dinner. Full on, lie down on the floor crying.

Earlier this week I brought DS (3.5) inside a quick service restaurant with me to pick up some dinner. He was acting up while in line placing the order, so I said “no juice” as punishment for poor choices. He proceeded to wail “I want the red juice!” and scream while i finished paying. He wailed all the way home, and was still weeping on and off while DH and I ate our dinner

I gave my 2.5 yr old a cup of milk this morning. He wanted a blue straw but we didn’t have any more blue straws so I offered a green or yellow straw. Tears and screaming ensued. 🤦♀️

Yesterday ... dd cried because she wanted a Cutie and I pealed it for her, full on tantrum cry, she’ll be 2 next month. Then later she wanted a slice of cheese and I unwrapped it for her.
