Which exersaucer do you have? Does your LO like it?
M is over laying on her gym mat! She'll play with it if I hold her up standing but that's pretty much it. So I'm in the market for a exersaucer.
Thanks!

We bought a pink bright starts activity center from Target (it was on sale for $49) but DD is only 12 weeks so she hasn't tried it yet. DS was crazy about his from 14 weeks-12 months! It's the only way I could shower and get ready. His was an evenflo.

@HeatherlovesKenny: good to know regarding your ds! M is 18 weeks and I was wondering if she might still be too young.
Which one does your son have? I'm looking more for a gender neutral one so we can reuse if #2 is a boy.

they're all pretty much the same so i would just go with one that costs less!

I have the evenflo splash exersaucer - it was an online retun at target so I paid $20, but I think it's ~50. No music but I believe Mrs. Wagon has the same and said Wagon Jr loved it!!

We got ours as a hand-me-down. Works great and we have plans to hand it down when we're done as well! Lots of love and lots of use.

I have a baby Einstein. LO Looooooved it! We used it for a good 7 months before I retired it.

@sorrycharlie: I was just looking at that one on Amazon!
@Mrs. Jacks: Sadly, we'll likely be the ones handing things down to friends.
@chopsuey119: I'm split between evenflo or baby einstein!

@regberadaisy: DS was pretty thick and strong at 3.5 months but DD probably won't be in it for another month or so (we'll remove some of the toys so it's not overwhelming). The evenflo was passed on from a friend of ours so I'm not sure what the exact style is but it had pretty basic primary colors, definitely gender neutral.

We have the evenflo splash too. We bought it used but it was practically new. LO really likes playing in it.

We have the baby Einstein one and she loves it. I had to prop her in with towels and a pillow under her feet at first because she was too scrawny. Now she's in in every day!

I would get one of the jumping ones, like the rainforest jumper. DS does not like our stationery exersaucer, he only lasts up to ten minutes and fusses half the time. But when he's at the gym daycare or church daycare he plays in the jumper one and LOVES it.

I was just wondering if one if these is necessary or not. Are they huge? Will it take up a bunch of room in our wee 1 bdr NYC apartment?
GOLD / papaya / 10206 posts
@plantains: they are rather large, not necessary, but I love that I can plunk DD in there and she will remain amused for 20-30 mins. We have a jumperoo like @Coco Bee: Mentioned above foe our lower level, and it comes apart and stores pretty easily if you were concerned about space.

@prettylizy: Oooh, if it comes apart maybe that might work better.

@plantains: I could definitely flatten it and slide it under our bed very easily.

So, FYI. If you are trying to decide between a baby einstein and another brand....baby einstein and bright starts are the same! I found this out because the company that makes both (kids II) is based in Atlanta and LO and I did a focus group for them on bouncy chairs. I mention this because bright starts is really inexpensive (and if you compare baby e and bright starts jumparoos and whatnot, theyre practically the same)

We have the luv u zoo jumperoo and LO looooves it. Keeps her happily entertained for at least 15-20 mins. We tried the exersaucer at a friend's but she only lasted about 5 mins before she got bored.

@stiffaknee: ohhh interesting. I was actually going in between Baby Einstein or Evenflo. So good to know about Bright Starts!
@plantains: Not absolutely necessary but since M is getting bored of her playmat now we don't have anything for her to "play" with now where I can leave her relatively unattended.
