Does anyone own or has ever slept on an Ikea mattress? Are they comfortable? We need to furnish 3 bedrooms and want something cheap but not uncomfortable. Its short term so we're not worried about it lasting for years.
Thanks!

I've not slept on one but if you don't need it to last long term I would think they would be fine!

We have them, they're fine! It's starting to sag a little after constant use for 4.5 years so I think occasional use would last forever!

@Truth Bombs: that's what I was thinking too. But even for short term I want them to be comfy since its for guests and staying on an uncomfortable mattress is the worst (to me).
@Mrs. Tiger: This is great to hear! Do you know which ones you have? They have the spring ones and the memory foam ones.

I find them on the super firm side, so it depends on what your preference is.

DH had one for a while right after college. I don't remember much about it other than I didn't find it to be very comfortable.

@Freckles: @Mrs.KMM: Do you think if I got one of those pillow top mattress covers it would be better? Would still be cheaper to do that than most mattresses!

@SweetiePie: the first twin mattress we purchased for DD was from ikea and was actually really comfortable.
It cost a little less than $400 after tax though, so it was one of their nicer mattresses.
I would go to an ikea and test them out before purchasing.

@chopsuey: It's crazy but I've never been to an ikea! I think there's one near the vacation property (or at least closer than it is to the city) so I'll check it out. Thanks!

I love mine! I have a memory foam one and I sleep like a rock
for the most part though, the ones I tested are on the former side (but I prefer that).

I've had 2 over the past 10 years and have been super happy with them. We got another one when we upgraded to a queen. I love their latex foam mattresses! With my first, I put a 4" memory foam topper from overstock on top and looooovvved it. So comfy!

We have an ikea mattress and I *think* it is a spring mattress with memory foam on top. Overall we are very happy with it. It's very warm (as are almost all memory foam mattresses) so we had to get a new duvet because we were so hot. We have had it almost three years and haven't had any issues with sagging etc.

I've been sleeping on an ikea mattress for about 6 years now and I love it.
They also come with a really good warranty so if you do have issues they will help you out.

We have the firm Morgedal in the camper. I like it enough for occassional use but wouldn't do more than a week on it at a time.

@SweetiePie: Check these mattresses out!

When I married my husband he had a full size memory foam mattress from walmart, it was incredibly comfortable but we needed a bigger one so ended up getting a queen from walmart also. We love it and it is SO cheap compared to other mattresses. You can see that there are thousands of positive 5 star reviews on several different ones from there.

@Mrs.Pinecone316: Get out of my brain! Are you spying on me??? About an hour ago I found these and was going to post about them! Glad to get a real-life endorsement, and the reviews are incredible! This might be the way we go! We were saying that even if it sucks, its only like $200 so we don't even feel that bad using it for a couple months and then chucking it.

@SweetiePie: haha glad you found them too. My DH had his for like 7+ years before we got married and it was still as comfy as the day he bought it. I can't say enough about how good these are for the money! We will never buy any other mattress.
(warning... it comes in a crazy small box and you have to let it open up have the memory foam expand over 48 hrs. We waited 24 hrs before sleeping on it. But I was shocked a queen size would be delivered in a box that small. But don't be alarmed it def turns into a regular size mattress!
