I was prescribed Provera today, because my first cycle off BCP was 61 days, and now I'm on my second cycle, and it's currently been 72 days waiting for my next period. I have my annual scheduled in March, so I can talk to my doctor more about it then. But for right now I called him just to discuss my crazy cycles, and he prescribed me this medication. He said to take it for 10 days, and within about a week, I should have my period. Then wait another month and a half, and I should get my next period, and if I don't take another 10-day dose of Provera.
So does Provera work to regulate your period? I know that it stabilizes your lining, and then once you stop taking it, is which make you get your period. But how does this work in the long run to regulate your period? Does it actually help, or would this just be a temporary fix? I'm clueless!
