Pencil, Liquid Pen, Liquid with Wet brush, Eyeshadow as liner?
I'm using a pencil right now because my liquid pen is dried up! need to get some more. Want to try the Laura Mercier liquid liner with a wet brush.
What's your go-to? Is it smudge-free?

Pencil or eye shadow. Not smudge free but I don't wear it enough to mind.

Eye shadow here...I love the bare escentuals eye liner since it's not too heavy.

Pencil, I can't manage anything else.
Actually, I like the ones that are like a felt tip marker, too.

I like the Clinique liner that twists up and comes with a sponge smudger... it goes on much smoother than normal pencil and is really easy to apply.

GEL
The only kind that won't smudge for me b/c I have the Asian single eye lids!

I use liquid. I have a pen and a brush. I like the liquid pen the best.

I use the Benefit eyeliner with wet brush. I heard great things about the Bobby Brown gel eyeliner so I want to try that next!

I like liquid! I had one from smashbox I loved - it was $20 though so I haven 't bought it again. Heard stila was really good too!
In the meantime I'm using a pencil and it's just alright. I can't seem to get a perfect line with a pencil.

I use a waterproof pencil from HD Forever Makeup--the Sephora brand. I have it in dark brown and dark purple. Ill use liquid eyeliner on my top lids sometimes for a little something extra, like date night.

Liquid pen! Although mine is dried out too right now so I'm using a pencil... soooo smudgy!!!
@snowjewelz: I have them too! Try Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner!!!

I've been using Laura Mercier for almost 10 years! Can't believe my brush has lasted that long

liquid pen--i have stila and really like it. doesn't smudge, which on my oily eye area is a miracle.

I dampen an angled brush and use eyeshadow as liner. I can get the cleanest, straightest line that way.

@edelweiss: lov emy stila pen, that's the one that's dried up!

Right now, liquid pen. Using the two-faced one right now and have a stila waiting. I used gel for a while and sometimes still do but like the accuracy of the liquid.

Pencil. ..and if I have time I do the thinnest line of liquid at the lash base to keep it on perfectly.

I use black eyeshadow with an angled brush and blend it softly, and then i use a felt tip eyeliner in a really thin line at the base of my lashes.

I almost always use a liquid pen. My favorite is the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner - so fast and easy to swipe on in the morning rush to get ready, with a very precise line.

Also adore the blackest black I've ever seen in the Marc Jacobs Beauty Magic Marc'er pen eyeliner (but it is pricier, at $30):

Although my "look" almost always entails liquid liner, when I want a waterproof liner or a smudgy or more natural look I go with a waterproof pencil liner--I switch between Urban Decay's 24/7 pencil eyeliners, Make Up For Ever's Aqua Eyes liners, and Marc Jacobs Beauty's Highliner (which is the blackest black I've ever seen in a pencil eyeliner).

Thanks for all the tips! I really need to try different makeup techniques.
@MrsSCB: I do this too. I use the bare minerals eyeshadow as eye liner.

Liquid pen - I like the ones that are like markers the best. And believe it or not, I love the Wet&Wild one best of all! I've bought tons of expensive eyeliners from Sephora, but the one that gives me the cleanest line and won't smudge no matter what is from Wet&Wild. So crazy, and for $1.99 I always feel ilke I have to tell everyone the secret.

liquid eyeliner, hands down!!
When I was in high school, I used Sharpie! (I was insane. No idea why I did that.)

Gel pot, Bobbi Brown... But I only do it for special occasions because my eyes tear up a lot and I'm too low maintenance .
@Rainbow Sprinkles: wow, Sharpie!! That's brave..

Liquid pen - right now I love maybelline. Tried everything under the moon and this one works best for me

Right now my go-to has been Urban Decay's pencil ... I can't remember what it's called. I have a few colors because I got a set in a gift awhile ago. I think it's my favorite as far as pencils are concerned. I can't seem to get the gel ones to look nice although I haven't tried it in a pen style!

gel pot. mac or bobbi brown. i find it to be the least smudgey!
pomegranate / 3779 posts
MAC gel pot is the least smudgey on me. It takes me a little more time thought, but since I typically only wear eyeliner on special occasions, it's not a big deal for me.
