What if you posted the photos with those icons on them, you now, like a pair of cartoon sunglasses over their eyes? It might be a lighthearted way to show that you don't want all that out there.

That action merits a defriending in my book!!! I defriended a colleague because she shared my birth announcement of my son ( she also is friends with many current and former students in FB). I was livid. Not cool.

That's just so horrible. Why do people think posting other people's pictures is a good idea?

We text messaged C's first ultrasound photo (10.5 weeks) to my husband's brother. Later that day, his girlfriend uploaded it to Instagram and Facebook. I was SO mad! He had no idea she even did it - when my husband confronted him (BIL) he was embarrassed and made it delete it. She thought we were over reacting. DF, dude.

But yeah. If she has access to your page she can just screenshot and crop if she's that whacked and desperate haha.

So many people I just don't actually talk to IRL. I was pretty ruthless! I feel like I can unfriend more but there are people that I kinda want to follow and don't think they're creepy or would do annoying/bad things...

I'm the same as you, my privacy is locked down really tight and I keep my friends list really tight.
My mil was sharing every.single picture I posted. Pictures of just me, of my kids, everything. So I put her on a restricted list so she can no longer see my private pictures. It's worked well for me and I haven't had any further issues

Argh. My FIL is the worst about this. I won't even get into my "pregnancy announcement' that he created and made for me.... by the way, I never did a pregnancy announcement on FB.... I think you did the right thing by restricting her!

What is up with ILs who want to share everything? My SIL and MIL do this as well. MIL is in the habit of sharing every photo of LO that I post, and SIL takes photos of my LO whenever she sees us and posts them herself (we had a talk with her because she was posting photos that we had texted her so she specifically asked if she could at least post photos that she took herself and since we said yes, she now does it every single time we see her). The worst is when SIL will share an old photo that she took of my LO (like with TimeHopper) and then MIL will re-share it. Argh!

Honestly I would love to get off facebook all together but it's the only way that I'm in contact with some of my family members so I feel like I should stay on there. I already barely post anything anymore.

So I have a question. If you put someone on "restriction", like a MIL, but a mutual friend who's not on restriction, like her dsighted/my SIL, likes the picture, will it show up to MIL because it's telling her that SIL liked it? I see photos of randos constantly because one of my friends "liked" that person's picture. It weirds me out and I wish Facebook would create better/easier privacy options.

@JoyfulKiwi: Restricted friends can only see things that are Public or things they are tagged in. If you share a photo with your "Friends", someone who is your friend but on your Restricted list won't be able to see it.
