We have our LO a fleecy blanket a few weeks before she turned 2. It is thicker than the A&A but I think it might actually be smaller than the A&A. She likes being tucked in at night.

My LO is ridiculous. She is in a toddler bed but since she realized she can get tucked in she sleeps with 4 fleece blankets (one character, 3 from baby shower) and a thin quilt my mum and I made her. She doesn't currently stay under them all since it is hot but I hope it means she'll stay warm this fall/winter. To answer your question, I'd go with a thicker fleece blanket or a warm sleepsack. I made R one out of fleece when she was in her crib and she wore it last week while camping without complaint.

We have an A&A toddler blanket. For winter, we just dress him in a heavier weight sleep set.

@yellowbird: do you want it for warmth? If so I would do a fleece sleepsack or footed sleeper - my kids would kick off a blanket in about 2 mins at that age - then she could still use her A&A to snuggle with.

If you just want a cozy blanket you could do a A&A dream blanket or a small fleece blanket from Target

@Mrs. Lion: We have that same one and I adore it.

@yellowbird: If you buy it just be careful not to wash it with anything velcro, or if you do then put it in a lingerie bag or something similar. We've had a few snag/broke threads due to washing with bibs.
