BIL gave me a dozen fresh eggs from his friend's chicken coop.
I'm all for organic, but *shudder* the thought of fresh eggs grosses me out so I gave them to DH's bff.
I'm SO GLAD I DID! He sent us a picture of a nasty little surprise he got when he cracked an egg open last night.
I already grossed @rubies out. WIlling to post the pic here and gross more people out if I get enough requests! HAHAHA

Sometimes I'll find like that thick white-ish stuff and I won't use the egg. But nothing too traumatizing. I'm willing to risk it because I do think farm fresh eggs taste so much better.
ETA: I vote for NOT posting. My preggy belly is questionable as it is today!

My IL's have chickens so we always get fresh eggs. They are SOOO good. We have only ever had 1 or 2 "incidents" with many dozens of eggs of the years. I guess there is a way you can look in the egg and make sure they are safe to open.

I will pass, we had a bloody egg one time when making pancakes and I'm still traumatized by it!
