I have a 13 month old who doesn't walk yet but loves going places. I also have a DH who uses a wheelchair and NEEDS to get out of the house. I'd like to take them somewhere for Father's Day. As a first time mom, I have no idea on activities they can do together. Any ideas?

There is an Arboretum nearby. We're in the burbs do everything cool is downtown and that's way too stressful. We went to the zoo recently but they will be crowded on Fathers Day.
@FaithFertility: Good idea. There is a small one nearby, but I need to check if its wheelchair accessible.

I wonder if there is anything sports related that is also age appropriate and accessible, but I can't think of anything. I saw a news story last night about an organization that helps visually impaired kids play baseball. How cool is that?I can't wait til DS is old enough to go to the movies. DH loves movies, even kid ones! All we do on a typical weekend it go out to lunch.

@macintosh: What if you think outside of the usual sports and go bowling? Mini golf? Fishing? All those things probably depend on the facility and its wheelchair friendliness, of course.

@Boogs: you know, mini golf is a great idea for when also is a little older. DH used to golf and I found an accessible course less than 20 minutes from here!

How about swimming? I know there are many places that are accessible, my sister is I. Wheelchair and its a great family activity for us.
