N has a 12 month columbia snowsuit (shower gift)

We're not buying one - I have read that they are not safe for LO to wear in a carseat because you can not tighten the straps as much but the outfit could compress in a crash. We live in an area where we drive pretty much everywhere so unless we are going outside for leisure, I don't think we'll use it at all. On the off chance we want to go for a walk or something on a chilly day, we can make do with layers and blankets, and we'll likely keep a blanket in the car as well to put over her carseat on chilly days.

Like @Regberadaisy - it gets WAY too cold here for DS to not wear anything, even for walking to the car. In January, the whole month is always below zero.

I won't even take it off in the car - it takes so long for cars to heat up when the weather is so cold, so he would freeze in the car without something.
