I haven't let DD touch my iPad or phone yet but I'm starting to think about getting an app or two for her. Do you have any favorites?

I love love love the endless abc app. It's expensive but worth it. It has a basic level which is drag and drop the letters onto the word which helped my daughter recognize letters. As you move the letter it makes the letter sound. Plus it's fun words!! Once you match the letters it does a little video defining the word.

My son is 2 and he likes Disney Appisodes which is interactive Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Alien buddies, and Jellytoons Bobos Birthday. Bobos he could do as early as 18 months the others are more towards 2 years old.
He also loves the Fisher Price apps and has done those since he was 12 months old.

Thanks @brownie and @t.h.o.u. I'll,look into those. I downloaded sme today that I'd read were marked down to free for the weekend.
Do you guys have a special case for your ipad for toddler use? She loves to bang on things so I'm a little concerned about my screen, which we just replaced a few weeks ago!

I had an apptivity but it was a pain. Now I just have an otter box commuter and he is mostly gentle with it.

@T.H.O.U.: I'm going to check that app out. Cute!
We've used our ipad everywhere, even dropped on concrete from daddy-carrying height and it lives on. Last night she spilled water on the screen and it froze. Thank God, it just needed to be turned off, rest and on again.
I've went through well over a hundred apps but for now, I'll recommend the Dr.Panda apps (hospital, restaurant, handyman etc) are the most fun to play together. Real world education too!

I use Toddler Lock when I am desperate, so it is a huge treat for him, and he can't get into my phone since the screen locks.

iPhone/iPad does not have toddler lock. What they do have is "guided access". It's in the settings, general, accessibility. You set it up with a password. Then when you start an app, you hit the home button 3 times and you can make certain parts of the screen untouchable and the buttons unusable.
This was great when he was younger and just clicked on the home button. Then got made his game went away. Now I don't turn it on because he figured out my password "1111" and he doesn't do that anymore.

@brownie: I agree that the guided access is a great way to lock them in an app. I even use it during FaceTime so she can't hang up on my mom.
