I'd like to get something so I can wear my 6.5 week old. I have the ergobaby and infant insert, but find it a little hard to use at this age (the infant insert is bulky and hard to insert), and my LO doesnt seem to like it.
What was your favorite baby wearing gear? I need something EASY.

I didn't like the ergo in the early days either (it was great once she was maybe 6 months old). For that stage I really liked the K'tan! It's soft and stretchy like the moby but it's much easier to put on. Very simple to use.

I used the moby ALL the time at that age. Once you wrap it a couple of times it really gets easy and quick but it does take a couple of minutes the first few times. Or try a k'tan and see if you like the fit. I loved having c wrapped up close to me at that age and it was often the only way to sooth her to sleep.

I liked our k'tan at that age and at 4 months, I moved to a ring sling! Which I'll be using earlier with #2.

I haven't used it yet since my LO is not due till Dec, but I got the Infantino Mei Tai wrap after a lot of research; it's so cheap and I have a mom friend that used it w/ her NB so I saw it in action. She said it's a great starting point and it's so cheap!

@Pumpkin Pie: we used the ktan. I loved it and wished she never grew out of it.
If you want to use the ergo, you can roll up a town and have your LO sit on it. I hated the infant insert too

Thanks for the suggestions. Any have experience with the babyhawk mei tei? I want to wear the baby facing inward, and with the k'tan, it looks like there is an additional piece to wear it like that.

@Pumpkin Pie: We have a BabyHawk. It's great, but after a while not as comfortable as, say, a conversion mei tai. But it would definitely be fine for a year or so, assuming your child is average sized or smaller.

@Pumpkin Pie: an additional piece you have to purchase? all the photos on the k'tan website show the baby facing inward. that's how i would want to wear baby too! but don't want to purchase anything additional...

@loki: the k'tan comes with a sash that is used to secure the baby. No extra pieces!

Oh, it must be the sash. I just saw the k'tan on you*ube. I havent actually seen one.
Mei tei users - can I use the regular mei tei with an infant? What exactly is the difference between the standard mei tei and the babyhawk?

@Pumpkin Pie: You can use with an infant. BabyHawk is just one of the many brands of mei tai. I've got one I'm willing to sell. PM me if interested.
