I have been wearing more economical ballet flats (Amazon brand or Lucky) and am looking for something a little more "dressy." They need to be comfortable and supportive since I am on my feet a lot as a teacher. Any suggestions?

My absolute favorites are from Margaux - https://margauxny.com/ They are on the pricier side but they hold up really well and are really really beautiful.

@JJ2626: Are they worth the money? I'm just a little hesitant because of the price.

@crazydoglady: I also have Rothy's and really like them but I feel like they aren't as polished looking as my Margaux shoes which keep their structure and shape and are also very comfortable. I definitely will wear my Margaux flats with a nice dress or skirt but don't really do that with my Rothy's

@crazydoglady: All the time - I have about 5 pairs I have bought through their sample sales. I love them all and have had my oldest pairs for about 3-4 years and they are still in good shape. (they have sample sales 2x per year and if you get on the list you can order via email)

@crazydoglady: I think they are worth it! They are so comfy (I walk 2-3 miles in them regularly) and really cute and have held up well so far over 2 years.

While I like my rothy's, if you need any sort of arch support, they are not the right ones. I can wear them around the office all day day but i don't see me being able to walk miles in them. But that's just me. I need support

I second Tieks. They're durable and supportive. I can stand in concrete in them and run through the city without any problems

My mom has plantar fasciitis, and these were recommended to her. She heels and sandals and will be getting flats next. She highly recommends them!
I need serious arch support, and will be getting the flats once my current (lucky brand) shoes wear out!

Second vote for Vionics! The arch support is fantastic and the ones with the elastic sides are the most comfortable flats I've ever owned. I have a narrow heel and wide toe box, and they are the only flats I can wear. Rothy's don't have enough support for my high arches, but I can wear them for an hour or two. Vionics I can wear all day on the polished concrete floors at work.

They’re not super dressy, but I love my Allbirds Tree Breezers. You can easily take out the insole that comes with them and replace it with a more supportive one. They’re washable and look super cute with jeans or business casual. They’re also less expensive than Rothy’s and way more comfy, IMO.

@KNS: So, I think I am finally going to pull the trigger. Is it the Demi that you have? How do you find the sizing to be? I know you said they last you a long time, but do you wear them often. I wear brown or black flats to work 90% of the time and am not especially easy on shoes.

I have the classic and loafer, I really want the demi in blue/black but haven't bought yet! I have had several pairs for 2+ years and wear them very frequently. I would say I tend to be very hard on shoes so have been impressed with their longevity and how good they still look. This is the color so isn't necessarily super forgiving https://margauxny.com/collections/the-classic?color=Ultramarine

@KNS: Those are pretty! I'm thinking about getting the classic in black (for whatever reason, I don't love the black demi) and the saddle demi. I'm just having trouble pushing the "complete order" button because I usually spent 20 dollars on flats...not 200.

@KNS: ooh I really want the loafers. Will definitely keep these in mind next time I buy shoes
@crazydoglady: as a reformed $20 shoe person, I support buying more expensive quality shoes if you can fit them in your budget. I have rothys and teiks that I love and it feels so good to put them on and I love how they look. Plus they hold up better. Go for it and report back

@Litebrite: Thank you for the encouragement! I'm a teacher, so I am on my feet all day.

@crazydoglady: Just got an email from Margaux that they are having an online sample sale starting later this week. Maybe sign up for their emails and if you don't see anything there you like you can order from the regular stock after.
