My friend's daughter is having a dog-themed first birthday and I want to give her some dog books. I know she already has Doggies by Sandra Boynton, but I'm blanking on some other good ones. What are your favorites?

There are these board books done by the photographer that took photos of dogs underwater as they dive for balls. Underwater doggies maybe? LO is in LOVE with hers and we think it's partt of the reason her first word was dog. She has the colors one and I think there is a counting one.

@twodoghouse: Not a board book, but LO is obsessed with that Dog book I walled you about.
He also really likes: the Biscuit books, Spot books, Snuggle Puppy, If You Give a Dog a Donut, Harry the Dirty Dog, Little Puppy (a creepy finger puppet book - he also loves Little Fish), Puppies and Kittens (touch and feel book)
I'm so sick of reading books about dogs. If we try to read on any other subject he points to his bookshelf and says "dog" repeatedly.

My LO loves "If I Were A Pup" because it has different textures to feel and the book has a tail.

Go Dog, Go by P.D. Eastman, another vote for Harry the Dirty Dog, and Dog by Matthew van Fleet (Costco has it for $10 right now).
