We're going away for a few days with two other couples and their wee ones. Shopping at Target/Amazon for some fun games we can play over cocktails once the kids are asleep. There are so many! What are your favorites?

I was also going to say Cards Against Humanity, if it's for cocktails after kids are asleep!

Phase 10 - it's a card game, similar to rummy/uno. DH and I are obsessed!

Rummikub! One of my favorites for socializing and playing.

Ticket to Ride is my favorite. We have the USA and Europe editions.

My family is big on card games and board games. We love gin rummy, hearts, and spades with playing cards. Taboo, scattergories and jenga are also old favorites.

Technically a kids game but we had a blast with cranium! Fun challenges
Coup was a really fun strategy card game I played with my in laws.

@MrsSRS: oh I love Bang!
We like Things, Settlers of Catan, Dominion and Pandemic. Pandemic is great because it's a cooperative game.
For card games we like Wizard and Skip Bo.

For that kind of gathering, my favorite is the game of things. Always total hilarity.

@Iced Tea: I almost got that! I think I'll go back for it, it's only like 6 bucks.
Thanks for the suggestions!

So many great suggestions here, I am going to add them to my amazon wish list.
I think I am going to buy one a year or something like that, as a family present from Santa. I also love to gift games.

@delight: love pandemic!
I also really like Balderdash and Loaded Questions

Cards Against Humanity if you're terrible people--I once won a round by playing "It started with (incest) and ended with (a windmill full of corpses)"
Or Apples to Apples if you're horrified by every part of that sentence
Exploding Kittens is also great.

Another vote for Pandemic. I really like the cooperative aspect.
We're really loving Guillotine and Love Letter lately (both card games). They're quick and fun.

@BrandNewMom: lolz. I am also a terrible person, having played apples to apples where someone wrote in "AIDS" and it made the game. So bad.
