For three days, definitely Vegas! Also South Beach/Miami? Or an all inclusive anywhere would be good, as long as it's not too far of a transfer from the airport. We've done both Antigua and the Bahamas for three day trips.

Eta: would also depend on what time you're going later this year, and if it would coincide with hurricane season.

We went to DR last May and it was so relaxing the beaches were beautiful! We did have a one layover flight, but it wasn't too bad.

Cabo is nice, Riviera Maya also

If Cancun is a good flight for you I vote Playa Del Carmen, it's a short shuttle or taxi ride, the city is very walkable and it has a multicultural vibe that reminds me of Costa Rica. M and I went a few years ago and loved it. On that trip we also stayed in Cancun and Tulum, but Playa was our favorite. Isla Mujures is awesome too.

I voted all inclusive! We took our kids with us a couple years ago with a bunch of our childless friends, and while it was fine with kids - we missed out on some of the excursions that our friends did like go swimming in caves, snorkeling, swimming with mantarays, visiting the mayan ruins, etc. I love that the all-inclusive would be a good balance of beach/relaxation/eating... and doing fun, adventurous outdoorsy stuff if you want to.

@lawbee11: what about St. Martin/ Anguilla or St. Bart's? Do those have any direct flights? We went to Anguilla for our honeymoon and it was amazing. No kids in sight and not that many Americans/other honeymooners either!

So jealous that you get a kid free vaca! Can't wait for one of those!

All inclusive for sure!!! We are going to an all-inclusive in Jamaica in May and I am so pumped. I highly recommend the Secrets all-inclusive/adult only hotel brand!

@hotchildinthecity: that's awesome!! I feel like Anguilla is a little known island but has some of the best beaches and crayfish and lobster!!

@HTownMom: I think about it almost every day! We LOVED it there.

@lawbee11: We stayed at Sun Palace (adults only), which was great, but met some people that stayed one week at Sun Palace and one at Le Blanc. Le Blanc sounded freakin' amazing.

@lawbee11: Don't throw Napa out yet! DH surprised me with a weekend getaway there last December, which happened to fall on an unseasonably rainy, cold snap - usually November and December feel like fall. We had to wear light jackets, and it was THE BEST regardless. We didn't spend a ton of time outside because we were touring wineries and drinking in tasting rooms, but it was comfortable enough to have lunch outside and tour the grounds. Going later in the year = shorter lines at tasting rooms, cheaper tours and rates, more generous pours would go again that time of year in a heartbeat!

We stayed at the ME in Cancun and it was beautiful. We enjoyed it!

If we could afford to fly I would go anywhere within a 4hr flight that has a white Sandy beach, crystal clear water and a comfortable bed. LOL

@Smurfette: just curious, where in Turks and Caicos are you staying? My husband and I are planning our 5 year anniversary trip there.

@Canoli: Alexandra Resort. We rented a condo through VRBO. Super highly recommended, was way more affordable than most places on Grace Bay, and the restaurant on site is one of the best on the island (Mango Reef).
