We have many "nicer" dolls, but the favorites are the Target Circo brand cheapies. I think my LO's like the weight, and the fact that the eyes don't close. DD1 was getting really frustrated the other day that the Adora dolls eyes can close, but not when she's propped upright (DD wanted her to sleep sitting up).

We love the Haba ones:

Nice and small for little hands. And only soft parts.

I couldn't help but buy my 1-year-old a cabbage patch doll this year.

Corolle or the Melissa and Doug Jenna doll. No hair at that age!!

My LO got a Corolle 12" doll for Christmas when she was 1. She is 2.5 now and still love it. They're pricey and the clothes are pricey but it has been worth it for us.

LO really likes the Bitty Baby doll by American girl. She's inseparable with it at 3. She had no interest in dolls until 2.5. And she had many (the pottery barn doll, other dolls, etc)

I also love the Baby Stella doll. There's a boy version too that I got my son, just don't know his name.
They are soft and have a magnetized pacifier. So cute! I think they have other accessories too, but I could be wrong.
