I've been thinking a lot about this topic, and started watching the documentary, "The True Cost" last night on netflix. Do you know of and support any ethical clothing lines? Any recommendations?

I have been buying Everlane recently. I like that they have information about the factories they use on their site and also share their costs.
I also just buy alot of pre-owned.

@catlady: We buy probably 75% of our family's clothes second hand. Pretty much everyone but DH. (Needs fancy man clothes for being a fancy medical student.) We've been doing it for budgetary reasons, but I do like the ethical/environmental aspect!

A lot of big name corporations are paying a lot more attention to these issues too and require all their factories to be socially compliant. I deal with compliance for apparel and PVH (owns a bunch of brands) have a very strict industry standards.

I have been wanting to see that documentary. I am obsessed with the French brand Petit Bateau for both my LOs and I. Much of it is made in France using sustainable, ecological practices and employees are paid a living wage.
