What is your go to holiday party dessert? I'm struggling and need serious help! We have a party this weekend and I have no idea what to make.
Last year I made Monster cookie dip- everyone seemed to like it, but I thought it was "meh". I have also made Oreo truffles and they were messy and super rich.
Any ideas?

my family loves trifle. there are tons of recipes out there but our favorite is the Lime Berry Mousse Trifle from Pampered Chef. i like trifles because they look pretty but also are supposed to be messy looking lol

We do berry trifle for Christmas Day and it is so yummy! My other favorite is chocolate covered peanut butter balls. My mom makes a batch every yea r and my sisters and I have to limit ourselves to one at a time.

I've always had good luck with Andes mint brownies. They have a layer of mint goo, then sprinkled andes on top. You could do something similar with peppermint pieces (or find Andes peppermint).

I always make rum cake which people go BANANAS for. I always make it several days ahead, since it tastes better after sitting around. It's also nice because it's one less thing to worry about the day- of.

@HabesBabe: totally fine. We've been making this since I was a kid. I have to assume my parents wouldn't let me have it if it got the kids drunk it doesn't taste like booze, just like rum (If that makes sense).

@shellio: Mini Cheesecake Pan! I have two of these: http://www.amazon.com/Metallic-Cheesecake-13-90-Inch-10-60-Inch-1-6-Inch/dp/B0006SJZJ8 which is equivalent to one cheesecake.

@travelgirl1: Here's the basics:
Crust
1/3 cup Butter, melted
1 1/4 cup Graham Cracker Crumbs
1/4 cup Sugar
Combine butter, graham crackers, and sugar. Press to the bottoms of the pans. (I used a tbsp scoop to press down)
Plain Cheesecake
2 (8 oz) packages Cream Cheese, softened
1 (14 oz) can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 Large Egg
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Heat oven to 350
Beat cream cheese in medium bowl with an electric mixer until fluffy (doesn't have to be an electric mixer, I've done it by hand before); gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Add egg and vanilla; mix well.
Add in flavors if desired. Pour into cheesecake pans.
Bake ~30 minutes or until center springs back when lightly touched.

I'm known for my sticky toffee pudding.I make it every year for Christmas dinner by popular request. It is really easy to make and super yum.
