My 8 mo just took his first steps today (I'm happy and terrified all at the same time)! I know it isn't good for LOs to be wearing shoes when they are learning how to walk, but once he's really moving, what first shoes did your LO wear outside? I'd like the type with the soft sole.

Robeez and See Kai Run's Smaller brand were great at first. Then I loved Stride Rite SRT SM shoes.

Robeez are nice. We have switched to Nike SMS because they have a solid rubber sole but are very very flexible. We needed a bit more support because he was at preschool and running around outside.

Robeez are great, as long as you aren't dealing with rough terrain. Otherwise, for more heavy-duty outdoor use, I like Pedipeds.

@Dagny: see Kai Run are my absolute favorite first shoes. They can be very affordable if you Hound sales. The first walkers are soft soles.

R isn't walking just cursing but we have a couple pair of Smaller by See Kai Run that she has worn a handful of times. I really like them.

Robeez!! I think they helped him learn to walk confidently. We're now in pedipeds at 13m after 2 months of exclusive walking and they'll be a nice middleman before harder sole shoes.

I used Robeezs in the beginning but I think I like Pedipeds more because they appear more durable!
