We chose our pediatrician's office b/c it's within our medical group, and the office is right down the street from us. This has been an amazing convenience, since we had to bring our newborn there several times within her first week at home. At the office there are a number of pediatricians, but we chose ours b/c she's the same pediatrician that my OB uses for her kids. I figured if my doctor trusts her, then I can too!

Oh nice.. A line just for new parents! that sounds great!!

I love my girls' pediatricians. They never rush appts at all (they take their time with you!), are extremely thorough (almost too thorough, but I love it), and come from ivy league schools (not a requirement I had, but nice!). I also like that they are in their 40s with kids of their own and they keep up with research and new findings.

Obviously we haven't used our pediatrician yet but the reasons why we chose them are
we clicked with one particular pediatrician that was referred to us by one of the girls who worked there. She's a niece of my husband's co-worker.
we also liked their stance on vaccinations. But ours was we liked that they were open about it. And willing to work with us to educate us rather than going the "my way or the highway"
Location, location, location! They are very close to what will be her daycare and our house and my husband's work. And in the future if we switch her daycare to one we want to there is an alternate location that is close to my work and that daycare as well.
It is a group practice and a lot of my co-workers take their kids there as well.
Yesss evening and weekend hours were a must!!!
Another one that was pretty important to us is that there is a LC on staff.
I also like that they set aside certain sick appointments each day.

@mrs. wagon: woah! good find on the Sunday hours!!! That's hard to come by. Most places at most have Saturday but only for sick.

My ped is soooooo nice and thorough. He'll sit and answer all your questions even if the waiting room is full, which means long-ish wait times. But when your name is called, you know you'll get the most thorough check-up ever. He's fairly young with two young children and if he's on vacation or away, there is other doctors who will see gladly see you.

We didn't interview pediatricians, but we did pick ours and we are glad we did. My most favorite thing about him is that he always takes plenty of time to talk to us about anything. Like other doctors I've been to, I never feel rushed out the door by him.

I love that our doctor's office is open every single day of the year.
