I feel like there's a lot of hit and miss with so many of these bug sprays. And every year they keep coming out with more or new and improved. What are your favorite tried and true big sprays out there? Particularly with mosquitos and kiddos who react strongly/almost allergic reaction to those bites?

I'm looking at Avon Skin So Soft, but I need to check out what is in store. The Avon is so pricy and it doesn't have the recommended concentration of bug repellant for mosquitos. I'd prefer a more natural spray too.

We have tried a ton of natural stuff but right now oth Zika we are just using Deet.

We like the essential oil wristbands for just playing in the backyard. And plain, old Family OFF for high bug situations.

We live in an area with ticks and Lyme disease, so we use DEET. It's actually pretty safe, despite its bad reputation. I usually just use off! I think.

My son goes to a camp with trails and there are deer, so lyme is a real concern for us. We use a formula with picaridin and it's worked nicely.

@looch: I'll look into that! My ILs have woods on their property and apparently they get ticks. Not something I ever thought about until it was mentioned rather nonchalantly "Oh and you might want to check DD for ticks when you get home. We let her wander into the thicker trees."
@Silva: Reconsidering DEET for them now that they're older...
