Swurlygurl: I attempted to do "brand" but that's just too hard.
I love Malbec and Shiraz. What's your favorite type of wine? Bonus points for type + brand.

Hahaha - yesss!
Does champagne count as wine? That would be my favorite.
I am pretty classless when it comes to wine. Love my Franzia! Anything that's sweet and not dry, and preferably white, is my favorite kind.

@babycanuck: you need to come southeast to the Niagara on the lake region. SO much good ice wine. In particular Chateu de Charmes and Inniskillen. SO pricey the latter. I usually buy my bros a small bottle and it's like $50+

@locavore_mama: I know!!! My favourite so far has be Stratus Red Ice Wine that I got on a tour two years ago. I went to Strewn this year and had their late harvest and FELL IN LOVE!!
I think I tried the Inniskillin, so so so yummy. So bad lol. I'm not big on regular wine but I did love the Dolce Reisling from Pillitteri though
I try to get out to NOTL at least once a year with a bunch of girls

@MsLipGloss: ohhhhh ... Nickle & Nickle cab is so good. It's a fun winery to visit.
And of course, champagne!

Almost any red, as long as it isn't too smokey (looking at you, Cabs!). I tend to love Rhone reds, Spanish reds, Chianti, Malbecs and Pinot Noirs best, but I also won't turn down a good red blend.
I do NOT like sweet wine, even as dessert wine.

@babycanuck: I love that area so much. I have a gc to Treadwell which is a farm to table in St Catherines. I need to use it stat. It was from our wedding 3 years ago. LOL

My absolute fave is Sofia Coppola Rose! But when I don't feel like buying a $20 bottle of wine (that we'll kill in a night, and THEN some), I like the Trader Joe's Reserve Rose wine:) I also like the new Trader Joe's pinot grigio with the turquoise top! My fave go-to, non- Trader Joe's is Mezzacorona which we buy from WF or Publix:)

Yum.

Funny you should ask: I am currently sipping from a glass of Crozes-Hermitage white. It might not be my all-time favourite, but it's definitely near the top.

Any drier rose...I think my favorites usually involve Sangiovese but its been awhile since I had any, so I'm a little rusty. I do have a pic on my phone of an amazing sparkling rose from Austria called "Hugo," hopefully I'll be able to find it again.
I also love Italian reds like chianti, barbera, Sangiovese, Montepulciano; French reds like cotes du Rhone and Beaujolais; and WA/OR pinot .
For white wines, my favorites are French, white burgundy and white Bordeaux. But a nice pinot gris, unoaked chardonnay, or Sauvignon blanc are good, too.
