@Freckles: I feel like even when you do everything "right", there are no guarantees! But it doesn't hurt to do more things to increase your chances! I'm so bummed for you though!

@theotherstark- I think I'm 10 dpo. Not 100% sure though because I'm a newbie.

@Freckles: oh sweetpea I am so so sorry. Trust me you didn't do anything wrong. Whilst its certainly true that you can help your chances in certain ways at the end of the day it's still a lot of random luck. My BFP chart scored very low for timing and pregnancy probability but it worked out. Do something nice for yourself today and then when youre readyMarch yourself on over to that March board for your march BFp. Big huge hugs.

@MrsMccarthy: @Adira: Thank you, ladies. I'm so glad i'm not in my office right now...stupid period hormones! I never wanted to chart/temp and all of that bc it just gave me a headache. Sometimes i read these chart posts and it's like i'm reading another language (probably why i never joined the POAS boards before). My cycle is 28 days and i'm actually going to be out of town CD8-10. The last time i did OPKs, i think i got positives around days 11-13? Sigh, i'll probably march on over later today...
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Freckles: Don't feel so down! If you don't want to chart, just make sure you BD EOD some time between CD10 and let's say CD20 to be safe And I agree w/ Adira that we can do all the "right" things and still not get KU... We really can't blame ourselves on not doing enough. It will happen when it's supposed to!
honeydew / 7295 posts
@Freckles: when I got my BFP we DTD only on O day so it's totally possible to get KU next month even if you miss day 10. Also I agree temping and charting can be a PITA but it can also really tell you a lot about what's going on with your Jody and help you know more accurately when you might be due. Fertility friend is free to join and has a free app that makes entering stats a breeze plus they teach you all about charting but break it down so its less dense. I highly recommend.

@MrsMccarthy: Haha when i read "Jody" i thought, "Great, another acronym i need to learn??" Yeah, a bit worried about the timing of my trip but i'm hoping that b/c i'm pretty consistent with my O date i'll be okay. @snowjewelz: I should have relied on OPKs instead of just CM this time. I think we stopped BD'ing too early (i relied on a Glow app which i am deleting today!!!) and should have kept going a few more times to be on the safe side.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Freckles: I pretty much did the same thing b/c I assumed my cycle would be the same as my last, but I just came off BCP! So we kinda stopped the BD thinking I def past fertile window. Looking back, I def still had a chance (we DTD O-3), but we def didn't do enough to up that chance. So that's why I'm going to rely on OPKs this time!
I must say though, AF brings SO much freedom! I don't have to think about anything! DH will be glad to take a break from my non stop TTC talk haha.
honeydew / 7444 posts
@snowjewelz: At least i can enjoy my trip to Portland with my girlfriend next weekend and be free to drink wine! But i swear i'll be SO stressed if i get a + opk while i'm away!! When did you come off BCP? It took a couple of months after coming off of BCP for things to regulate.

@MrsMccarthy: Can you tell me more about b-complex vits and how it helps? i did briefly read it helps to normalize your cycles. There's someone at my sports medicine clinic that does vitamin injections...would that be better than taking vits itself?
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Freckles: Jan was my first one off so I expect it to be pretty crazy the next few months. I should've used OPKs earlier but thought I could do without! I'm more confident for next cycle, but greater the hope, greater the disappointment too.
nectarine / 2079 posts
@Freckles: We DTD EOD CD 8-16 and every day CD 16-21 and I didn't get KU last cycle. I think sometimes it just doesn't happen which drives me nuts because there is no way of knowing WHY so that we can try to fix that next time. I'm adding just OPKs this cycle in hopes that they will help us, but I still plan on covering all bases BD wise.
honeydew / 7295 posts
@Freckles: I don't know about the injections but the B complex helps if you have a short luteal phase. I started with the rainbow lite b compex with 50mg of B6 once a day but th cycle I started taking it twice a day at 3DPO so it stays in my system. It *seems* to be helping because I am usually spotting by 7dpo since I've been nursing while TTC and so far nothing. I've also added vitex to the mix.

DH is confident that I can't go to the dentist for a regular cleaning pregnant. Can I???
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@MrsScottish: just tell them you're pregnant. My dentist had me come back during the second trimester.
Good luck, everyone! BFPs for all!
honeydew / 7295 posts
Feeling really out still for a BFP this month BUT encouraged by my lengthening luteal phase. Cervix is high firm and closed when I think it should be soft and cm is not at all like it was when I was pregnant with my son. Still if I can make it past Monday before my AF I will be okay.

@theotherstark: I hate that AF is the consolation prize for not being KU. "No baby for you, now let's celebrate with bleeding, cramping, acne, and irritability! Woo!"
@Freckles: I am so sorry, friend.
@MrsMccarthy: FX for a longer LP!! How is dropping a feeding going? And I thought your lemon juice trick was great! I am so hopeful you will get your BFP soon!
@Adira: how are you doing? How is my favorite little X?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsMccarthy: I thought firm and closed is how it should be when pregnant?? But I don't actually know... I didn't check mine last time around!
@Crystal: You're so sweet! Doing well - just waiting to ovulate! Although temps were slightly up this morning... not sure if that really means much or if I'm just coming down with a cold AGAIN, haha. Xander's doing fantastic! He's such a happy little guy! We're gearing up for his first birthday party next weekend!

@Radish: Yes, i totally know what you mean! It's like, but i did everything i was supposed to do! What gives, man?
@MrsMccarthy: Ahh okay, it probably won't make much of a difference for me. I was just curious!
@MrsScottish: Yes, you can get cleaning done. I just didn't get x-rays done.

Good morning darlings. Good news: NO AF or Spotting so far today and i am on 8DPO so it's already looking better for my LP. Bad News: BFN and i really don't feel pregnant. I know i am not out till AF but i have a strong suspicion that this cycle will be a bit wonky and long but no baby. My cervix is night and high, super close and firm like a nose. my cm is kind of a mix of milky with bits of white but no more EWCM patches which is good. So i am very hopeful that i will make it to next week without AF. How are you ladies doing?
nectarine / 2079 posts
@MrsMccarthy: I'm so glad your LP seems to be getting longer. Weaning sucks. I don't think you are out, yet, so I will keep FX for you still this cycle!
honeydew / 7295 posts
@Radish: thanks honey! Weaning does suck. I don't know how it's going for you but in my case my son has two incsisors and a molar coming in and he wanted to nurse like a newborn last night between 7pm and 7am. Every 2-3 hours and for long durations. I feel like all that suckling is not gonna be good news for my hormones but my son doesn't have that fuss like cry when I deny him. He instead screams like a demon or a banshee. Coughing too the whole 9 yards. I was afraid e was gonna get a sore throat. I don't think he is ready for full weaning yet and I tried but he is too high string for any sort of cry it out, I won't do elimination, so for our sleep and well being it could be a while before I can get pregnant. But with a longer luteal phase and hopefully an earlier ovulation over the coming months I do feel hopeful we will get there eventually. Days he is doing great going 10-15 hour stretched without.

@MrsMccarthy: it's still early! 8dpo would usually be a bfn right? Yay for your LP going better!
nectarine / 2079 posts
@MrsMccarthy: My LO has not really had any issues. I had her down to 1-2 feedings per day already and she still asks but doesn't get upset when I don't let her. I, on the other hand, am a hot mess over it. I was super sad the first few days, I think my hormones have finally leveled out and I'm feeling better about it today. I think if she were still insistent on getting it there is no way I would have weaned her.

@MrsMcCarthy: Fingers crossed for no AF! But that's AWESOME about your lengthening LP!!! 8DPO is great! Did you just start taking the vitex this month? I've been taking B6 for the past couple of months, and I bought some vitex but I've read mixed reviews about taking it while BF'ing. Have you noticed it effecting your supply at all?
3DPO here with FF estimating AF to arrive on Monday, because of my short LP
Sucks when you don't even get a 2ww, but more like a 5 day wait...
honeydew / 7295 posts
@googly-eyes: I'm definitely not completely put yet but there are other factors that make me think this wont be the month. I think my chances are improving though.
@Radish: yeah it's not easy especially when baby is not ready but even if baby is ready it can be so emotional. Hormones plus jut the feeling of the end of an era can really hit home at first. I hope it pays nice BFP dividends for you. I have seen many women wean and get a BFP that month.
@Keppa: so far I haven't noticed any supply issues but I have only been taking it since 3DPO. I have also day weaned my son. I take 50mg of b6 in a B complex twice daily and 440mg of vitex twice a day and I am also getting mee vitamin C and D which help. There is a book called FERTILTY, YOUR CYCLES AND NUTRITION that has been helpful for me. Perhaps look for it at your local library or used book store. Good luck! I hope your LP lengthens.

Teensiest bit of spotting when I went searching behind my cervix. Doesn't look at all like spotting I had with my son. Usually means AF by tomorrow or the next day so LP did lengthen by two days but we still have some work to do before we get to more than 10. Hoping full AF will hold out until Monday at least but I know the spotting still isn't good news. Ah well. Better than nothing. See you all at March board as soon as full flow starts.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsMccarthy: Boo spotting!!!! But every pregnancy is different, so it's not over until it's over! I'm still holding out hope for you!!
honeydew / 7295 posts
@Adira: thanks honey. I don't have much hope and I am really bummed because I was hoping for more from my LP but it do lengthen a couple days so if it can do that a little bit each month I should have much better odds coming up. I just feel so wiped out by this whole month. I feel okay though because this is only my second month and I know so many bees going through this continuously. I hope you ovulate soon and we both get a chance to bring home babies in December.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsMccarthy: It's just a bummer because your timing was really good this month! But at least your LP is starting to get longer. I'm hoping mine is longer this cycle too - last cycle it was only 7 days! I just hope I ovulate soon, because Hubs and I are terrible at BDing for very long, haha.
GOLD / pomelo / 5737 posts
@MrsMccarthy: Improving is good. What does your ob say about this? Sorry if I'm making you repeat yourself, the poas threads go so fast!
honeydew / 7295 posts
@googly-eyes: no worries. Basically prolactin can be high as well as estrogen when you are breastfeeding. Every woman is different so it's hard to say how much or how little nursing will effect your fertility but since I've been tracking my cycles I've had the classic signs which are later ovulation and shorter luteal phase. I don't want to fully wean my son until he is ready and he is really freaking out so I am attempting to get prgnant whilst nursing by partially weaning and adding supplements. My son nurses less but he has been suckling a lot and thy say the amount of suckling is more of an inhibitor than the amount of milk so I'm trying to get him to suckle less. With two molars and two incsisors coming in that has been impossible. I hope I can get there soon.

Heavy spotting with brown clots this morning. AF is imminent as I expect a full bleed tomorrow. I made two days longer in my LP but still not past that magic number 10. Moving to march but very excited to see more BFPs from this board!!! FX for you all.
pomelo / 5326 posts
@MrsMccarthy: sorry about AF. A 2 day increase is great though! With B6, my LP increased by a day for two months in a row, to a 10 day LP, then on the third month I got my BFP. I hope you get your positive soon!
